"Hardcore" Mode
Add a "Hardcore" game mode option that can be activated in the settings menu that removes the rank restrictions for matchmaking, but only for that player.
As an example for a person playing as the killer; if a rank 10 killer activated hardcore mode, the survivors they would face in each trial would be near their rank, or as high as rank 1.
As an example for the person playing as a survivor; if a rank 10 survivor activated hardcore mode, they would be matched up with survivors near their rank that also had hardcore mode activated, and then that team would enter into a trial with a killer of any rank. However, if there are no other survivors with hardcore mode activated, they would return to the normal matchmaking where ranking is considered.
The difference for survivors being that some players might not want to go up against high ranking killers as lower ranking survivors, so it wouldn't be fair to force them into that situation. Just as some higher ranking survivors might not want to have a low ranking survivor on their team, so the hardcore mode wouldn't force higher ranking players to team up with lower ranking survivors. Unless there is a killer hardcore mode setting, and a survivor hardcore mode setting, where if both are checked, then survivors could be paired up with survivors of any rank.
It might just be easier to have hardcore mode be an option to allow for unranked matchmaking. Because the whole point of this idea is to address the few number of games that higher ranking players encounter. An unranked system or a different structure of allowable matchmaking, like mentioned above, could allow for a wider variety of matchmaking.

looks a bit complicated for not much honestlyI think the explanation of it can appear complicated because I'm trying to clearly define the circumstances for multiple cases, but once implemented it wouldn't be that complicated. I'm sure this can be described more succinctly but I've never been good at that.
Ultimately I sometimes want to play against more difficult groups of players, as the regular groups tend to become predictable and boring. I've also heard that people who make it to rank one early on in the season have to deal with long queue times. This might not be the best way to resolve that, but oh well.
