Current Hangman's trick is useless and should be changed.

Hangman's Trick is literally useless now. I haven't seen a single person using it for a very long time. I agree that at one point (long range aura reading around EVERY hook in game) it was ridiculous and actually too strong (while not even matching the perk's theme), but right now it's simply terrible. It does need a change and I have two propositions:
- It reveals survivors around the killer (reverse BBQ and Chilli) while picking up in small radius and shortly after hooking in a bit bigger radius.
- It simply restores used up hooks after 10 seconds and maybe increases their sabo time by 33%/66%/100%?
I remember I tried using it to secure always having a hook in my 3gen area, but I caught the perk red handed not making hooks go back live on stream... (and there was no Breakdown at the moment), so it's only purpose (Sabo notification made sense back in the day, now it doesn't) was bugged and not working. I feel like perk like this does have place in the game (which actually does fit Pig, Pinhead and Trapper thematically a lot!), especially with hook distance offerings and hook scourge perks.
I did create new topic, because someone mentioned lack of option for their own suggestion... and it was a good thing to put in, but I simply cannot edit already existing options. @dugman

Change it, but in a different way and here's how:
I agree Hangman’s Trick is a bit weak. I think though I’d prefer keeping it with the same basic theme of being a detection around hooks perk rather than changing into something entirely different. My suggestions would be either
- Makes the aura detection near hooks persistent versus only being on when you are carrying someone. Or possibly have them appear periodically every 20 seconds or so.
- Increase the range of the aura detection around the hook slightly. It shouldn’t be too big because there are a lot of hooks all over the map, so even a relatively small range covers quite a lot of area. But the current radius is probably just a touch too small.
If they did one or both of the above it could make it a solid tracking perk.

I think this should be added. I would not increase the Sabo-Time, Sabotage is already very weak, but with that it would probably be impossible to make a Sabo-play. IMO if a Survivor manages to pull of a Sabo-play, especially in Solo Queue, it should feel rewarding, but this would make it too hard.
However, Hooks should respawn, I dont really know why they removed it.
Showing Survivors next to a hooked Survivor (the reverse-BBQ-idea) is not good IMO. This would just encourage camping.

Any effect related to counter sabo be that repairing hooks or even slowing sabo times will always be trash. An entirely different effect is needed.

Hooks respawning in 10 seconds is what it used to do, there was no reason to get rid of it.
I could be down to increase sabotage time as well, maybe not by 100% though.
It still wouldn’t be used very much but it would at least be something you could throw on to counter sabo squads (like how you can switch to franklin’s last second).
Right now it’s just more of an info perk than anything and like OP mentioned, what it does doesn’t really match up with the perk’s theme - it’s like it tries to be an anti-sabotage perk but that’s not really what it does a lot of the time.

@Aven_Fallen As I see it, it would actually discourage camping. Survivors knowing such a thing is in game would try to crouch near hook for two minutes much less likely (They know they can't be seen with BBQ so they feel safe now).
Killer doesn't see anyone near hook even though he has suspicions? There is no reason to stay there other than spite (and noone uses Sole Survivor, let's be honest here). If anything it would decrease hook camping. No one here, no reason to stay. Someone in here? Killer can start new chase immediately.
I mean, you can't force people to not play stupid anyway, I see people stop doing anything once I get hooked WITH KINDRED ON, the whole team xD. We speak about people with brain, not the rank 21 MegHeads.
