Balance BBQ Auras
The Bloodpoint bonus is enough for most Killers to use Barbecue & Chili. The desired effect of the perk is to tempt Killers away from camping and/or tunneling. The aura reading part of the perk is tied to the camping, but it's too strong in its current form.
Have it reveal Survivors' locations instead of auras (like Rancor), and remove the minimum range limit so that the Killer can actually tell if the hook is being camped by Survivors or not.
At the very least, have the aura reading expire after one of two conditions have been met:
- 4 seconds have passed (the deault condition for all tiers)
- The Killer has moved 18 meters from the hook (the distance a Killer can cover in 4 seconds (moving at 4.6 m/s))
This should better balance the aura reading for high-mobility Killers. Even then, the Hillbilly can cover the remaining distance much faster than normal Killers, so Survivors have much less counterplay against him compared to other Killers.

BBQ is one of the most balanced perks in the game and even the devs agreed with that. It has multiple counters that don't even require a perk to do so, you literally just play differently. Unfortunately many people refuse to adapt and improve, instead they come here complaining about it being too strong when it's really not.

@Blueberry You're right, it's balanced: does it mean that there are no other mechanics equally balanced? Many killers hate to be camped by one or more people when they hook a survivor: Nos37's and my proposal helps them to avoid this unpleasant event.

The problem with "explosions" like rancor its impossible to locate 4 explosions happening at the same time. Additionally it is also important to determine the distance they are away from the hook.

Then why fix whats not broken? Maybe in a distant utopian future where there are no meta perks (or at least not the current ones), dedicated servers, optimal map balance, good totem system and several other characteristics Devs should focus on before fixing something that is not broken.
^^^^^ +1
Why are we trying to change one of the most balanced perks in the game with SO MANY other things that are completely broken/unbalanced and need fixing.

"BBQ Auras are broken" now thats something only a survivor main can say.
the auras are perfectly fine, as there is only ONE out of 13 killers who actually is able to make good use ut of this information: the hillbilly with his 230% chainsaw dash movementspeed.
also, there is counterplay to it instead of asking for nerfs, why dont you just go ahead and get good?
thank you for your patience.3 -
Every try that thing called crouching behind a gen? If anyne wans to coment on BBQ I hoped they have used it and found if someone is behind a gen it is impossible to see them.
