Boon Totems need a serious cooldown to be anywhere NEAR balanced
It is well known that the ability to heal and reset yourself without another survivors help is one of the most impactful things a survivor can do in this entire game. That's why medkits are considered so strong, and why Circle of Healing, in my opinion, completely breaks the balance of the game. We have regressed back to the days of old 2017 self-care (there was a reason that perk was meta!), where switching targets in a chase to spread pressure was unthinkable because you knew they'd just be healthy again in 16 seconds and all your time chasing will have been for nothing — something that used to require 2 or 3 perks and a good medkit. Shadow step, while not quite as strong as Circle of Winning, has its own issues, especially in indoors maps like Lerys.
All this OP ######### could be okay, however, if killers could actually counter these perks. "Just do bonez, 4head, while I put my Boon back down on the other side of the map." The only other counter is tunneling that person out of the game, but then you realize there are 3 other people running this perk too. Oops, guess I gotta tunnel the whole team?
No no no no, what this perk needs is a punishment for it getting found. Snuffing totems need to DO something. That's why you're gonna slap a cooldown on this baby.
*When your Boon is snuffed, you may not place another Boon for 200 seconds*
Exhaustion perks have a shared cooldown, most Killer powers have a cooldown now, so something this powerful NEEDS a goddamn cooldown to approach anywhere near balanced. If it were up to me, I'd make that ######### cooldown 5 minutes long.
But anyways yea. Boon Totems are broken AF and need a long-ass cooldown to prevent spamming while also encouraging more strategic placement and usage.

They need to be destroyed when snuffed out.
There is currently no value in snuffing out a Boon totem.
Survivors will reignite it ~20 seconds later and you've just wasted 30 seconds finding the totem, snuffing it and re-finding survivors.
You can have a back and forth with one survivor repeatedly snuffing and re-blessing, while the other three survivors win the game.
They are for all intents and purposes, permanent Hexes.

200 seconds is far too long, but increasing the time investment for relighting it could definitely be a good call. Either a cooldown on the perk, or increasing the amount of time to takes to bless a totem for each time it's been snuffed, something like that.
I'd be wary of making too many changes along those lines before addressing the more pressing issues, though- boons going through multiple floors, some totems being in spots it's just unrealistic to expect the killer to realistically keep snuffing, blessing a totem not deactivating DS... not to mention that CoH needs to be brought in line before we can accurately gauge how strong boons are as a mechanic and where the specific number tweaks and changes should be focused.

A cooldown at least would be nice, killers get saddled with the most stupid and ridiculous restrictions but the highest hurdle that survivors have to go through is... finding 1 of 5 bones and... 14 seconds?

I cannot agree more with a post. If you have at least 2 Survivors Running CoH you can basically quit as a killer. There must be something done. For example, you can only bless a Totem 2 times in a Game.

200 second cooldown is way too long, but they do need some adjustments.

Middle ground? How about a scaling cool down to give killers more incentive to snuff. Basically when your boon is snuffed, boon perks go on cooldown for 45/65/85/105/125 seconds adding a token at each snuff increasing cd to max 125 sec.
This means survivors have to strategically decide when/where to boon so they don't get punished by just relighting the same totem over and over. Gives killers incentive to snuff by making the boon less powerful as the game progresses.

Boon placement, snuffing, and replacement are ok as is, provided that the individual Boon perks are balanced around it. All they need to do is balance Circle of Healing against the current system by adjusting its healing speed and it will be fine. The issue right now is that its healing bonus is probably too fast given the way Boons in general work.
Shadowstep may or may not be overpowered, it’s hard to tell. I’m pretty sure it’s fallen out of favor compared to Circle of Healing so if it needs any adjustment it would be a minor one.
The new Boon Exponential isn’t even out yet so who knows there. 🤷♂️ Again, though, if it hypothetically needed an adjustment they could tweak its speed or radius of effect.

It makes the game unplayably bad for M1 killers
Playing Wraith just sucks when they have 2 boons on the field... You use to have to worry about just medkits, but at least those run out... Circle of Healing is forever.
If you can't insta down or commit to a down and they have boons the game is just lost.

One minute cooldown.

Cool down could be 90/80/70 based on level, that would still make it worth snuffing as it would give you breathing room betwen blessings.
Giving them limited uses per trial, 3 or 4 uses per boon its more than enought for each trial, specially considering there can be potentially 4 boons per game, that would make 12/16 blessings.
Allow killers to destroy the totems, that would become a tactical desicion for the killer, it might need those totems for a perk or perhaps it would rater not deal with the hasle of the boons.
Any of the previous would make boons far more manageable and balanced, altought i also agree circle of healing regardless needs a heavy nerf to the bonus it gives, its just idiotic how fast allows survivors to heal.
Shadow step in my opinion its idiotic, not in the same level as CoH but its there, the fact that with this and iron will survivors become virtually untrackable its ridiculous. ST at best should reduce scratch marks by 60% and reduce aura reading perks time they are active by 1/2/3 seconds, that would still make it so they are usefull but last way less, still not robing killers from fing survivors

I think they should let the new hex (Pentimento) turn boons into rekindled totems.
It’d be balanced since all survivors already know the location of the totem.

Ok, 200s would fix that for sure.
Problem is that power fo Coh compare to others is just nowhere close imo.
So it might be better just nerf CoH instead and see how that works.

Problem is that it doesn't matter if you use 2x CoH. It would be easy to have 1 active anyway, so situation for a killer is still same.
It would nerf other boon totems for sure.
