idea to balance boons
so as you know boon totems have no real downside and their upsides are very powerful and it doesn't really matter if the killer cleanses them as survivors can just as easily relight them and don't say that the time taken to light them is a big enough downside, 20-30 seconds of 1 survivor spent finding and lighting a totem is nothing in comparison to a killer spending 15 seconds to find and cleanse it killers already have a finite amount of time to spend chasing, downing and hooking survivors another objective hurts especially as its a pointless one due to there being no limit to how many times boons can be lit.
so here is an idea
what if after the killer cleanses a boon the perk disables for the survivor until they cleanse a dull totem that way survivors could only use there boons a maximum of 5 time in a trial and they would have to spend more time searching for totems after they cleanse one rather than relighting the same totem over and over again.

I feel you'd need to balance it a bit better than that... If 4 survivors are running boons then maybe one can get a second use? Unlike killer hex perks, survivors cant protect them and they're radius dependent. I feel if we were to go with your suggestion you'd need to nerf the overall effect but make it map wide (like almost all killer hex perks). idk just my 2 cents though. I know a lot of people wont be happy until theyre DOA but I would love to see different perks used every now and then...

Snuffing a boon breaks the totem. Boom. Problem solved.
Keeps them strong but on a limited resource.

But wouldn't that be a direct nerf to NOED because it isn't hard to find and break all five totems and with what you are suggesting would make NOED much weaker.

It would be a nerf to NOED.
However NOED is a badly designed perk in the first place. Less NOED is a good thing.

that's basically what I said but with my idea after you snuff the totem survivors have to spend 14 seconds cleansing a totem then several seconds moving to another and then 14 seconds lighting the boon so around 35-45 seconds.
if you just destroyed the totem they will at most spend 20-25 seconds just finding and lighting another totem

I mean ya but I think a better nerf to boons would be a smaller range, effect only works on the floor your on and a cooldown around 30- 60 seconds after a killer snuffs it. I'd take it a step further and say whenever a survivor with a boon perk gets hooked the boon automatically gets snuffed.

"if you just destroyed the totem they will at most spend 20-25 seconds just finding and lighting another totem"
That seems balanced enough.

How would it be a nerf to NOED?
If they had cleansed instead of blessing the totem would be gone anyway.

Because it isn't hard to find totems and before all five gens are done and what Blueberry had suggested would make it hard to ever get any value out of NOED. I better nerf is to give it a cooldown after a killer snuffs it around 40 to 60 seconds, make it only work on the floor the totem is on, and make it to where when a survivor with a boon perk is hooked the boon automatically gets snuffed.

Which would be no different to how things were before boons.
Still don't see the problem.
