First person view for survivors.

This seems like just too great of an idea. Have a separate game mode, or perhaps an offering for that specific survivor, that makes it so you play in first person instead of third person. It would just be a fun little extra mode to enjoy from time to time.

The avoid dizzyness from actions such as pallet dropping it could simply be made for your camera to not just follow the animation. And for chases it could be made like in outlast, where you can press Q while running to take a look behind you.

As interesting as that might be, I suspect it’s not at all easy to implement. When they do animations for killers from their first person perspective they have to do all kinds of camera adjustments and animation adjustments specific to the killer to make sure the player is seeing the limb animations they’re expecting. It’s not as easy as just putting the camera at eye level. I remember this was an issue when Blight came out, they were still having camera issues with him in PTB and maybe into launch. So in order to make it possible for survivors to play in first person it could require redoing all the survivor animations and camera for that mode.

On a related tangent I thought a really interesting killer ability might be to have a killer that can play in third person perspective similar to survivors, either all the time or for limited durations. Again, I doubt they’d do it because of the complexity, but on the other hand if this was limited to just one specific killer with that unique ability then the developmental requirements might not be an onerous.

I dont think it would be that hard really. They could just make it so the survivor model has no head from the persons perspective. They already do this, having diferent models per player, like killers having their hands cramped up and reaching forward

BHVR have all in all put their foot down against diversifying gameplay outside of Gen/chase/kill. In their last Q&A one of the developer’s scoffed at the idea stating they weren’t looking into any “this game mode or that game mode”.

I’m afraid for a long while we’re going to dealing with doing the same objectives and same chases over and over again.
