Grabs don't work 99% of times
Was there some kind of change to the grab mechanic I am not aware of? I literally sneaked up on a survivor who obviously not noticed me and just sat on gen and I made sure to not lunge - just a single tap.
Nope, it's still a swing for some reason. Tried it multiple times due to meme killer games I had mood for...
Imma be honest, it's really unfun experience with all the little issues that can stack up one upon each other. Hit validation, autoaim deciding to focus fence, gen or person on the hook, obvious grabs not connecting, pallets pushing killer to the other side...
None of these issues is big enough on it's own... but they all can happen one after another and it makes playing killer unfun to say the least. The most fun was getting grab on unhooking survivor get cancelled into a hit, which was autoaim on unhooked survivor, not even proccing bt bcoz of the hook invulnerability... Basically free escape.

This happened to me for a palette slide, camera moved for the animation but grab did not occur. This game is honestly just getting more and more broken each update without any of the fixes that should be focused on... At this rate might buy prop hunt.

They had an update that basically said "We know grabs don't work and we're not fixing them. Instead, your killer will make a weapon attack if the grab doesn't function."
However, this is a weapon attack, not a weapon HIT. So, as often as not, you'll go for a grab, get cheated out of it, and then have to endure the "missed weapon attack" timer on top of the survivor getting away scott-free.

@Adjatha Naah, that's not it, what you mention was done long time ago and I did have consistent grabs not too long ago. It's worse than couple of patches ago.

@Avilgus I am 99% sure it is already in the game, making sure the killer doesn't get the grab given the survivor presses any button for up to a second after the start of grab animation - it literally does look like this from both sides.

Grab validation should absolutely be killer sided. The game shouldn't encourage risky plays like bad hook saves and greedy gen rushing in the killers face between basic swing cool downs. In fact, i think killers should be able to do a grab if available during a weapon cool down

If you can see the grab animation start on both sides, then it should be a grab. I've seen so many killers get the grab animation only for it to fail, and it's beyond unfair. The fact that survivors can outright deny an intended game mechanic without even doing anything is absurd.
