Just a question for the people that say Spirit got nerfed to the ground

i still play her and think shes fine, but iron will really poops on her at this point with them knowing your direction and you knowing nothing. Likewise as a Survivor, if you get hit with no iron will, you're dead, if you have it you extend chases.
Unsurprisingly though, the playerbase think 1 change to a killer means unplayable so most spirits you see now run the ring/cherryblossom wall hack stuff because they think thats the only way to make her viable lol
0 -
Even with iron will if the spirit has a good headset then he can hear footsteps easily

i think the dust thing was a perfect change, you can see it IF you pay attention, but also cant see it behind walls- but there's still slightly more counter play. Now the directional audio just makes it so easy to know where she is at all times without even looking.

She's so rare to play against for me, that's why I've been trying to play her more cause I miss her.
0 -
Every spirit I've played against since the nerf has been dumpstered unless she's using mdr/amulet/cherry blossom. Even with those add ons, she's easy to loop at stronger tiles. Pretty sad they made her so weak for "muh counterplay".
1 -
idk what you've been seeing but they never added the dust kick up thing only the directional sound lol
1 -
they did in the ptb. lol
0 -
plus, even IF im wrong- it was in the patchnotes- and seems like a better fix than directional sound
0 -
Nah I’ll continue to do that. I want to see Spirit more often.
0 -
They didn’t add dust kick change thankfully.
0 -
Honestly I am starting to believe that sentiment is true now. It proves she takes way more skill now compared to before which I’m ok with.

Same happens every time a killer is nerfed from my experience. Once nurse got nerfed all the terrible 5 blink nurse left.
People on both sides always go for the easiest option hence why survivor/killer meta is so popular and nobody tries anything new

I play a ton of Spirit, I'm just not playing DBD at all lately.

👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Nice attempt at throwing shade, but your completely wrong.
I never played top tier killers until I got to red/iri ranks and Spirit was one of those killer I didn't use until that rank. Spirit was a different killer to use at high ranks other than Nurse. But I guess Nurse players also want easy matches even though her power can keep up with high rank survivors.

I've told you this multiple times and your holding on to a lot of false hope.
Spirit is pretty much useless especially when she has a community wide usage drop.

Answer my question in the post. Have you played her at all since 5.3.0 to at least give her a shot?
0 -
No but ngl I’ve been facing a lot of spirits now and damn it’s so easy to just rely on your headset and loop her easily at pallets ? You literally cannot be mindgamed anymore when she phases because the audio cues are just so precise.
1 -
I thought I was dreaming when I heard footsteps so clearly again. At least, I know I'm not crazy now.
0 -
Nurses power has absolutely no issue keeping up so long as you’re good with her. Fact is a lot of people played spirit because she was easy to get good results with. Now that it’s harder much less people play her
0 -
Why would anyone want to play an unviable killer? There are simply better options.
0 -
How are you going to know how good she is if you don’t even try? That just makes no sense to me.
0 -
she had counterplay, just not the basic one that most killers have which is looping
spirit still lost matches on high level play vs survivors who simply know how to use their time efficiently before going down
all survivors act like they gotta kill the killer, when their job is just waste time and survive and spirit was one of those killers that required you to play in a completely different way, not just running around uncounterable tile till the killer gets you, but not anymore
2 -
literally no one said that.
0 -
She is my favorite Killer i play her all the time still.
3-4k all games, rougher games are the Iron Will users but not hard listening to foot steps
still a High Tier A for me S tier if you use Ring/Cherry Blossom makes me feel bad for survivors
oh and my Build consist of Corrupt/Dead Lock/Grim Embrace/Thrilling, no ruin or pop ######### them meta perks

I have played her a few times and I just don't like playing as her as much anymore there was so many funny things you could do as her back than and now you can't really do that now. Also I don't enjoy playing against so much anymore I prefer the guessing game she had before was more fun to try and confuse her when she activated phase.

I’ve used Ring and Blossom one time (on RPD thank god I brought those add ons that game) and I must say they do turn Spirit into a brain dead killer. Base kit Spirit is definitely in a great spot though.

She wasn’t nerfed into the ground and is still an extremely strong killer. She can actually use the directional audio to her advantage.
At some pallets she can phase to one side and double back quicker that the survivor can react because she is moving so fast. So that is one neat thing you can do.
It’s really only Iron Will that counters her very hard. And I don’t wanna hear anyone say “Just listen for footsteps!” Because most survivors with Iron Will will not run as soon as you begin phasing so you have zero audio to work with because the survivor emits no breathing sound while injured with Iron Will, so unless it is a heavily grassy area you are just guessing.
The only thing that makes her pretty easy mode is MDR and Cherry Blossom. I used it to try and get the Prowler achievement (but it’s bugged) and yeah….uh, those matches were super easy. I would argue that MDR and Amulet is still a better combo.

I've played two Spirits in two months.
She's probably as rare as Deathslinger now.
Oh well, I'm sure all her 'good' users are hanging with all the good Billy/Nurse/Freddy/etc in the deadpool.
Iron Will being a top perk also doesn't help incentivize anyone to pick her.

I have played her and against her and noticed not much changed

She is easily one of the best killers in therms of chasing (in the hands of the best spirit players), however she's not even close to her op pre-nerf form.
She can't manage grabs anymore (she was the best killer to do grabs), this is a nerf to the ground for sure. She lost her stealthy gameplay that used to give a huge map pressure, due to directional audio and reworked addons.
She became essentially a chaser killer and I'd say the most penalized one if you manage to miss a phase. There's no room for mistakes and this is why people do no want to play with her anymore, mainly with the MMR system.
1 -
She always had counterplay.
3 -
Well, you think she is good and fun, so you go play her.
0 -
Well I’m already doing that so no need to tell me.
0 -
You can’t counter what you can’t see.
1 -
Still would prefer a periodic phase change

They don't need to try the killer to figure out that she is worse. The whole point of their negative changes is to delete killers that survivor did not enjoy playing against. Nothing about her gameplay changed, nor did her skill-cap change. if anything her skill-cap was lowered. She is now a killer that literally relies on Iri speed add-on and cherry blosom to emulate what Stridor used to do for her. All spirits that I've faced since her change have been using mother daughter ring and cherry blosom, I haven't faced a normal spirit since her changes.
I imagine like wraith, pinhead, demo and so on, those add-ons will probably be in their words overperforming, so I could imagine them getting changed with halve values and than some statement saying that these changes are to encourage add-on variety.
lower playrate is just result of negative changes as it is with every killer.

So many changes being done now basically boil down to thing being unfun, being changed to be just as strong but require more skill, people don't like that they can be outplayed, they say killer has been gutted, cycle etc. Spirit is so much more fun to play and face now and it sucks that the one thing all she needed to be better was added and people hate it because they can't stand still and win chase.
Same goes for deathslinger imo, I've been playing a lot with him and he feels just as strong and oppressive, he just requires flicking and aiming skill, something he didn't really need before with his quick instant shots.
0 -
I disagree with the Deathslinger thing. It's not that his strength was taken away, he is just so clunky and janky to play now. I played him once on the PTB and the slower animation feels so bad.
0 -
Personally, it doesn't feel as bad as some killers are. When I heard it felt super bad, I was imagining old plague, new pyramid Head, or twins, when in reality he just plays similar to huntress now, it doesn't feel as clunky as I thought it would

Except that I have both tried her and gone against her as survivor. Her power only kind of works at short loops (which most killers do well against) and is completely dead at long loops. The only way she catches people is if they don’t use headphones/make mistakes. She is a worthless killer now.
0 -
yes they do.
0 -
I have. And I don't enjoy her like I did pre nerf simply because her unpredictability made her fun to play as. Now you don't even have to use a brain to play against her.
0 -
I fail to understand the difference between her and wWraith tbh; both charge at you while invisible and really fast
I dont mind Spirit as she is now, I dont think shes weak but idk what to do with her really. I just charge in like a bull mostly.
0 -
Yes you could. The player is not a perfect AI. If you robbed them of sound or doubled back, they fell for it. Not all the time, but they did.
