Should Dead By Daylight be Free-To-Play Game? If so or not, Why?

I have been noticing the huge influence in Paying for the Base Game, and all the DLC Chapters (Licensed/Original), so many of the new characters/perks are sort of locked behind a Pay wall System in which you have to wait for the Shrine to appear for the perks you want and pay Audric Cells for the characters you want!

In a way, the potential for the game to go Free-To-Play is huge, as you can have alot of new players invested into the game without being Pay wall to play it for free; bur there is a danger, that it will not stopped all the Cheaters to gain easy access to the game; as well as no possible reward for all the players that have pre purchased the game/own the game before the game goes Free.

What is your opinion, do you think is good for the game or not?

I really think it should, since it already feels like such a freemium model. By default you only get ~20% of the characters for free, and everything else is either DLC or "free" with iridescent shards.
