Snowman is a free health state for survivors?
Did I get this right? We're in a chase and they jump into the snowman and I hit them and they break free and I go on hit cooldown.
Seriously?
Comments

If you hit them while they jump in one they get injured. If they're already there, no.
9 -
Well, that's what I mean, If I'm chasing a guy that's like 8 mt from me they jump in and I can't do anything about it. It's like a free BT without the need to mend.
10 -
Yeah unfortunately another oversight for a "fun event" where the whole thing is just a snowman
26 -
Not free BT because they dont get the speed rush.
8 -
tbh doesnt matter cause most of the time the snowman is enough distance to get to a loop.
5 -
"fun event" for survivors I guess. Amazing...
17 -
Yes, but you get a free cosmetic for your troubles. You could just go about busting the snowmen before they get a chance to hop into one too!
5 -
It also protects against noed when they are close to the exit.
Nothing you can do about it.
Fun fun fun.
I know this is supposed to be a "fun" event thing.
But this is just a new (temporary) game mechanic to troll killers.
13 -
Do Snowmen (like do bones)
7 -
Do you not know how the game works? This is a problem because you can't physically do anything about the stupid snow man. Do you now know how distance works in correlation to survivor and killer? Of course the survivor is going to jump in when it's completely SAFE. Or do you expect the killer to destroy every stupid snowman in the match?
Hey killer should have teleported immediately and destroyed the snowman lmao. It's honestly so easy to counter said by my favorite forum poster Komi.

They don't get a speed boost, and you DO get a free cosmetic out of it.
This is a fun addition. Don't take it so seriously, it's just a silly little snowman disguise survivors can take and it's only gonna last for as long as this little event.
This community really will complain about anything...
35 -
You can also take a free protection hit for carried survivors without getting injured. A little dumb, imo.
2 -
Only thing that bothers me is that you lose Play with your food stacks when hitting snowman.
Other than that I am fine with it, got used to being looped for ages, what does 10-20 more seconds do anyways /s
0 -
Speed boost or not that's still distance made if you're a competent Survivor there's still possibilities to save your exhaustion perk for a crucial moment in the game.
I am not tolerating a dumb snowman design by the developers on a Game where one killer mistake can potentially mean = your game is GG.
Stop with your complaining about anything BS. This is legitimate criticism.

This community really will complain about anything...
Yes they will.
TBF though killers were already telling anyone who would listen about there trouble....Maps, Spawns, ridiculous rng setups, boons, etc so I get why some are upset about this all things considered. Adding one more thing that gives survivors advantage kind of slaps them in their face.
12 -
You really dont get it do you?
These things are free hits and also free escapes in some situations, completely negating several perks and killer mechanics.
If you think thats "fun" think again.
They are indeed silly and anything but little.
I dont care about the cosmetic. So the price for the cosmetic is be trolled until the event is over?
Seriously i wonder who came up with the idea and gave it a green light to be released into the game.....

''Hi, we're so sorry that our snowmens are an awesome shields against M1, here take this ugly charm consumer''
8 -
Wishing a lot of people in here get Civilization under their tree this year.
That being said it is kinda stinky that killers dont have much interactions with the snowmen as much as survivors do
2 -
Good lord, you are taking this far too seriously. The absolute worst case scenario here is that the game is very slightly more annoying until the end of this very limited event, so if that's really insurmountable to you, just take a break until it's over.
So you're right, I don't get it. Seeing survivors hop into snowmen and start moving at a snail's pace is funny, and since they don't get a speed boost it's not a free hit, it's a much more minor extension than that.
Stop taking it so seriously. I can't fathom being mad at the jokey holiday event because you take the game so seriously that any even slight advantage the survivors can get from it is unacceptable.
If you're not gonna tolerate it, don't tolerate, go play something else until the event's over. This isn't legitimate criticism, it's being hyper-touchy to even perceived slights.
14 -
They even respawn. So even if you were somehow dumb enough to waste your time going around popping them in advance...
1 -
Lol at BHVR events
Survivors: have fun while inside a snowman or use it to tank a hit that puts the killer on cooldown letting you escape
Killers: well... ######### you i guess
This is everything Dead By Daylight needed.. shields lying around for survivors to use, very creative of bhvr
7 -
Are you the new PR person for the Devs?
Stop apologizing for them adding this content.
The game isnt "slightly" more annoying, these Snowmen are an outright trolling tool for survivors and can be abused in all sorts of situations to give survivors a much higher chance of escaping.
The solution cant be "play something else" or "take a break".
Thats just silly reasoning. I shouldnt be forced to take a break because of a seasonal game mechanic that makes killer gameplay insufferable in some cases.
8 -
I've never understood why people take this game so seriously. If it's not fun for you, don't play it.
9 -
...
12 -
Criticising you does not mean I am sucking up to the devs.
Regarding the mechanics of the snowmen, there has to be a reason that survivors would want to hop into them so that the whole thing actually functions, and the minor benefit of dodging a hit without getting a speed boost or dash a la Dead Hard is a reasonable one. Are they a tool for survivors? Yes. Are they broken? No.
The solution isn't "play something else". There is no solution, you should consider playing something else because you are frustrated with the game. Or, if you don't want to play something else, stop taking the game so seriously during the events. You don't have to win every match, just go for the new cosmetics or try out silly builds or something.

It's also an awesome shield against chainsaws.
2 -
As someone who saw the leaks for this event (and knowing that you don’t get a speed boost for getting hit iirc)
this just seems more like complaining about a casual game mode more than anything, 1 free health state but the snowman is broken for 300 seconds before respawning, you move incredibly slow, its incredibly loud, you can’t see auras, and you are hidden aura wise, you can also destroy these snowman before the survivors can even use them (I haven’t updated dbd yet i’m too busy trying to complete infinite warfare zombies and i’m struggling alot at it lmao) and I don’t even think you go into a full cooldown from hitting survivors in snowmen
I swear people ask for something new then get upset when we get something new
EDIT: accidentally put the wrong thing with hidden
13 -
Fun for who???? double U T F????
I just had a game as hag and they were entering snowmen left and right, I think I got a guy entering 2 times in the same chase. It was not FUN, it was FRUSTRATING, all this while gens kept flying by. Have you even played killer in this event? it feels like you're some sort of entitled survivor that wants to tell us what IS FUN and what isn't.
9 -
When people get mad like they do over this game most of the time(not alway) is because they care about the game and are passionate and are tired of the bs. People act like oh you take it to seriously, I'm sorry I'm taking something I've spent my time and money seriously because I also want to have fun.
5 -
I play killer exclusively and have played against these snowmen. It's very funny watching survivors climb into snowmen and then crawl at a snail's pace while wearing one, that's the intended goal of the snowmen and they nail it.
2 -
It's so sad to read how confidently you're wrong. If it was "funny" for you, good for you mate, but read the comments, it's not fun for everyone. And I've seen nobody justifying it, they just say "omg, why you complain", "omg, it's fun", "omg, if you don't like it play something else". Nobody is justifying why "they nailed it" (they haven't BTW, but I'll let you swim in your ignorance)
3 -
That's about right. The cooldown is like if you hit a wall instead of person - slows you down for a second but that's it. Everyone I've seen do this when spectating gets downed few seconds after the snowman hit. If you're playing competitively it's horrible extra few seconds, if you play casual it's fun. I'm enjoying how my matches are - not needing to escape has everyone chilling out instead of seeing who can escape/kill faster.
5 -
Nice pun btw lmao (just incase it wasn’t intentional, it was the chill out part)
but yeah competitive may be bad for this event but thats literally it, its meant for fun and thats all
2 -
I played 3 matches so far
First match doctor, shock pops snowman attack afterwards is pretty much instant
Second match trickster, You can still throw knives at them and they take damage when the laceration is full
Third match trapper, faked placing a trap under their feet and hit them when they came out
All 3 methods deny the cosmetic
So yeah survivors can complain too
It's an event for fun. You people can endure having some harder matches for a couple of weeks. next time a survivor jumps in a snowman. Dance with them, Twirl around them.
3 -
Wait people are complaining about the first fun event since like 2018?
12 -
It seems you're missing the point somewhat, so let me try explaining it differently...
The point is that the people who are complaining about it are talking almost exclusively in hyper-serious, competitive, tryhard terms, talking about how they're spending extra time in chases because survivors get "a free hit" (which isn't true on the face of it, but moving on). Nobody complaining about this even acknowledges that it's for fun, they're just mad that they have something to compensate for when they're trying their hardest to win.
So, the solution to that ""problem"" is for them to stop taking the game so seriously during this event, because it is a fun and silly seasonal event thing. Surely people can approach the game a little less seriously for the holidays?
3 -
I realized it when I wrote it 😂
1 -
So you're now telling me how should I play the game too? First you tell us what's fun and what isn't and they you tell us we should play the game in a non serious manner because it's holidays (which probably mean a lot to you but I couldn't give a f)? Man, you're entitled AF.
I celebrate holidays with my family and friends, I don't want the game I enjoy go to sh*t "just because it's holiday so now the game is whatever". And yes, I play all the time at high MMR against twitchy 4man SWF, so no, it's not fun at all.
6 -
Why isn't their an evil snowman that damages the survivor for one health state? 50% good snowmen, 50% evil snowmen. How hard is that to do?
1 -
No, I'm telling you that the way you're playing the game isn't the only way to play, and the snowmen are designed around encouraging the other way of playing the game. It's not a flaw and it's not a slap in the face, it's a decision that leaves you with three options: Accept the slight difficulty increase, adapt to playing the game more casually, or take a break.
(For the record I actually don't personally celebrate anything around this time of year, but that's a minor point.)
The game has not gone to ######### and it's not "now whatever", it's just encouraging people to loosen up a little. That's it.
6 -
I usually just laugh because they're so funny looking and I still get something out of it post game, so I don't really care that survivors get a "free health state"
2 -
Killer main.
Relax. Even if you don't care about the cosmetics, just the general tone of this thread should let you know that if you take serious offense to this event, you are in the vast minority of vocal windbags. You've got to realize that the tryhards, high MMR, and people on these forums are the smallest percentage of the DBD community.
Regular folks are having fun with it. You can't expect BHVR to not do silly things because you don't like how it upsets competitive play. Either cool off or move on, but screaming into the void won't do anything other than persuade them to STOP making events.
BHVR was widely criticized for the lack of uniqueness to the Halloween event. So they added new ######### this this time for us to mess around with.
12 -
For survivors to mess around with. Yes.
5 -
In your perspective, sure. I enjoy pouncing snowmen with Victor. I don't even care if it gives a stun for free. Killers just get to kill a symbol of holiday cheer. The entity is pleased. And I think you get BP for smashing them.
1 -
Slight advantage? Mate one mistake = lose. That's not slight advantage lmao.
Not even playing Killer anymore and I'm gonna criticize their badly designed event all I want.
2 -
Sheesh dude. Most of my matches since the event started have been filled with people messing around with the snowmen instead of doing gens. I have yet to see someone like "I'm going to run into this snowman to dodge this stupid killer". If you're that bothered by it, the event lasts only 2 weeks, you can take a nice break during this period.
4 -
Its not for you to decide if the majority likes or dislikes the event.
I havent seen any data supporting either of these options.
Sorry but i cant see how this can be "fun" for killers. These Snowmen do grant an extra protection hit and can be abused, especially by all the swf groups. Its a cherry on top of the clicky clicky cake.
Why should i just accept this? I paid enough money for this game already.
I would rather them not adding an event like this but something that is fun for everyone.
3 -
I'm surprised it took people so long to realize the snowmen were a better DH. You might be slower, but you can always use them if you find them, even while healthy, and the Killer is forced to destroy them, granting the the long successful attack cooldown on top of it, and you don't lose a health state or anything
4 -
How do I play the normal game mode during this time?
0 -
Ok - I have an idea, wait in line at the DMV.
That seems something more your style.
