Nerf Detective's hunch

WTH, i just used this perk and damn, do i want to say to any killers who runs any hex buids to say goodbye to your totems, this thing is nuts!

i was running a meme build just for fun, it was consisting of Bond, Windows of Opportunity, Open-Handed and Detective's hunch, just cause i thought it was fun, but somehow it took me on for a ride, any ruin or undying lying around unprotected i cleansed it in a matter of minutes, "if it glows it goes" is what i thought for the past few hours using it, until i run into Hex haunted ground a couple of times, yeah it was fun until your teammate got instadowned halfway across the map, don't blame me i'm in solo q lol

So i just thought with the right build and the current meta right now with COH, this thing would make casual hex user miserable any totem lying around will get booned immediately, even noed can get cleansed right on the spot, unless you run thrill or extreme anti boon build your totems will be gone once that first gen gets done.

Hunch is balanced as it is. Sometimes the totem you find won't even be a hex totem, since it's a 20% (1 out of 5 totems) chance.

It also takes skill to use (unless you use a map), since you have to memorize the location of the totems from the auras.

it takes skill? what kind of skill? unlike killers, survivors doesn't get tunnel vision everytime they look at the killer.

also you would be able to spot 4 totems at most in one single gen pop if you look carefully enough and run around during that 10 seconds.

I run Hunch a lot and it's still difficult to memorize each location, but that's just from my experience.

Hunch is a pretty weird perk to complain about tbh, and this is the first time I've seen someone do so. It requires a generator to be completed in order to have it activate, which could take up to 80 seconds and at the very least 35-50 seconds with multiple people on a single gen, and without toolboxes.

The issue is totem spawns, as @ThatOneDemoPlayer said.

Not if they're gen rushing, one fat stack of a nasty toolbox and prove thyself is enough to make a killer crumble early game, and couple that with Detective's hunch, any Ruin + Undying or Hex perks you got lying around will be gone in the first few minutes of the game.

I've been running around with this perk for the last 5 hours and my memory did not once fail me from cleansing ruin, undying, devour, blood favor. thrill, after just one or two gen pops maximum.

Its so easy to just skip dull totems once you've confirmed them and just go for the next one then repeat until you see something that glows.

Yes most of the time i am not able survive with this meme build since i have no exhaustion perk, but i did a lot of damage before the killer could even recover or snowball their game without their main hex perks.

Its not just the totem placement, its the perk that reveals them halfway across the map even if they're hidden that makes them useless.

64 meters (+16 meters if your team has open handed) couple that with 40 meters of running around makes this perk almost global range.

Probably an unpopular opinion, but I always found 64 meters to be a bit excessive.

I think it’s also a lot better than other totem-tracking perks, especially counterforce in the boon meta.

Is this really where game is going? Are we really gonna nerf every mediocre perk? Wow, really people, stop complaining and play this game, smfh.

Yeah, but will you be accurately reading their position when they're 50+ meters away? DetHunch is part of my DetHunch/Inner Strength/For the People build, and I can tell you with certainty that you're not going to instantly pinpoint every totem you spot the aura of.

Not to mention the amount of times it procs while being chased, rendering it incredibly difficult to use. Or the times you try to find a totem you saw the aura of, only to find a little pile of bones when you get there.

It's a good anti-totem perk, but that's the only thing it does. It has an activation requirement and requires skill to use. This is the least of killer players' problems.

Totem finding perks are fine but totem spawns are busted af

That's not a meme build that's a very good build! Survivors running Detectives Hunch to bless totems is a concern though due to how oppressive Circle of Cheating is.

It is very strong and I'm surprised people notice it just now.

Does it need a nerf though? Propably not.

Lol. I'm a killer main and all I can say is lol. Detective's is fine, it requires skill and great organization to use, even in a swf

One question: Do you want to VS other perks to be used instead of the usual 5 (DS, DH, UB, BT, IW)?

If the answer is yes, then you should be glad, that Detective's Hunch is useful.

It is good that there are some other useful perks.

But most people won´t run these nevertheless.

You only have 4 spots and there are some perks that are essential.

Are we officially out of things to complain about?

This must be the bottom of the barrel here.
