OhToFu’s Tier List 5.4.2

I do not agree with this list very much.
While there should be little to no debate about Nurse and Blight I disagree that they play at the same level as Artist, Spirit, Twins and Pyramide Head. Both of them are in my opinion a whole tier above those Killers if the player know what they are doing.
Now for me a Killer has to have map presence and lethality. Then higher a Killer ranks here then better he is. Only one of those things does nothing for a Killer because you either get looped to well or you see 3 gens pop while you walk towards the next target. This of course assumes you are not camping because if you just camp and tunnel Bubba is T0.
Now, I would start with B-Tier: Which Killer has 5/10 in map presence and a 5/10 in lethality? Freddy and Demogorgon come to mind and thus should be the reference points how much better or worse a Killer does in a certain department. Nurse has a 10/10 in lethality and mobility thus being the #1 Killer in the game with Blight as a close second.
I will not submit my own Tier list but you get my way of thinking. This results in my opinion that this list is greatly flawed for me as it considers the 1v1 too much and the 1v4 / map mobility too little. Also Oni is better than Billy...I started to learn Billy and he is fun with his curving and stuff. Both have equal snowball capacity and yes, Billy has better map presence because he just has to rev his chainsaw. However Oni gets his downs far more consistent and plays much more fluid. Just from personal experience (and I love Hillbilly, do not get me wrong, first Killer I played!) Oni yields much better results and is far less punishing.
Billys greates strengh comes from people not knowing how to play against him. 3/5 downs with my chainsaw are not from me curving good or making the right choice but from a survivor underestimating Billys speed with add-ons, Billys curving with add-ons, Billys flicks with Q/E and so on. Meanwhile with Oni I feel much more that it was my skill and not just some silly misplay. Sure they happen but the big red glowing monster running at them seems to make survivors play better than the man with the chainsaw...

I’m going to stop debating why killers a what tier they are now, as most here just want to reassure their own confirmation bias.
I will say this, you need to watch every killer for his explanation as to why each killer is where they are, not just hot take after looking at the end result. Tofu’s explanations as to why he put each killer where makes his choices a lot clearer. He ranks killers very highly on chase potential, and mobility less so.

His tier list sucks there's no sugar coating it

2-hour long video tf. I'd need a tl;dw. You guys are madlads if you watched the whole thing.

Even with top potential, most of these are plain bad. Deathslinger is a good example. Top potential doesn't mean anything when his Terror Radius is so huge he can't even get in a chase, combine that with his Perk and Add-ons dependence and you've got yourself a garbage Killery that barely even makes it in the C tier

Pinhead, Slinger and Demo A tier.
Yikes.
2 -
I'm slightly biased but I feel like Demo can be A tier with the right build

Slinger doesn't have a good 1v1 anymore. Having a good 1v1 requires you to get in a chase, and he just can't if Survivors ShiftW

From my personal experiences, i think that Spirit is much more punishing to play now after her nerf. Depends on the add ons, but if you use her power for travelling than you won't have your power back in chase very fast. Being 110% is very punishing against good survivors, so you shouldn't miss with her power. Very good Spirits are still a threat though.
Twins are very strong if you play them nasty, which means boring. Territorial playstyles which involve camping often work very well in public matches and against Twins you're often injured. If they play with a lot of slugging, you're already dead if you're not on comms and play coordinated.

You can still ShiftW and get gens done, it's what happens in tournaments, as weird as they are

I really struggled with Deathslinger post nerf. Not so much anymore. Maybe my MMR leveled out but I think it really came down to: getting used to the new ADS speed and knowing when not to shoot to gain distance on wriggling survivors.

Makes me sure not to take him seriously in the future, much as Otz tier list did.

Tofu used to be sensible but have not slept well this year I think..so he needs to wake up to some changes made to Twins and Plague for example. Bottom of the list was mostly fine though. So many A tier killers? And PH in S? Ok Tofu.

I am not fond of the downtime with Twins. However, she's still very powerful. Just not fun to play because it feels like you are lagging every time you player her.

he has a very weird viewpoint on dbd killer strength, with "oppressive 1v1 killers" always landing in his top of A/S tiers, even if those killers are stupidly bad or inefficient in the big picture.
he's also overrating twins likely because he casted a tournament in which they won every single game they played, against extremely good players too. but that was in a tourney where all healing perks, anti-slug, and medkits were completely banned against them. all of which can slaughter twins in public games. they're just too high risk high reward to be an S tier killer.
do not understand A tier for billy either.
tofu has some good takes and he's a good player, but i think he's just kind of a rambling veteran with opinions of the past that has very little people agreeing with him in 2022. nothing personal, i think he even acknowledges this himself lol.

it's true, and they're high on a comp tier list atm, but that's because literally all healing perks, anti-slug perks, and medkits are completely banned. there's no wonder at all why twins are so high on HIS tier list, as he casted a tourney where they slaughtered every single game, even against really good players.

I completely agree. I must've added that I, for the most part, don't agree with his tier list, but let's be real, it's interesting to hear different people's opinions.

Not sure I'm a fan of someone putting forward the idea that the 1 v 1 is all that matters in dbd. Time to down and the 1 v 4 is what at the end of the day defines the win for dbd. Even if you get 8 hooks unless you have killed at least two survivors or escaped it's counted as a loss. You can say it's nonsense (which it is) but at the end of the day most people sit down to play a multiplayer game with the goal of winning. Tier lists exist to advise players on what the best characters/builds unless it's explicitly stated to focus on enjoyment or fun. This is a tier list aimed at the 1 v 1. To say otherwise is incorrect.
Dbd mmr system outline the defined win condition, get kills or escape. Untill the dev team say otherwise. It seems illogical to be making up and balancing around players perspectives on what it's win conditions are when there is no concensus. Most people default to kills and escapes since its the clear cut objectives of the game.
If in the future mmr changes to work off points earned. Then we can potentially reevaluate killers. But considering the chaser emblem last I checked was still bugged with Victor I don't have much faith in those systems.
