She so rarely meows too that I have to record any time I go to feed them because it's the only time I have ever heard her meow. Even then, she'll meow MAYBE once or twice if I'm lucky...

Olive is coming out of her shell. She's spending a lot more times upstairs (though still throughout the day, she hangs out in the basement and comes up in the late afternoon/night for some reason).
Unfortunately Holly and Olive are still figuring each other out so no good pics of the two of them being all snuggly and happy together. Olive basically hisses anytime Holly goes near her and once in a while paws at Holly. No claws or teeth or whatnot (or at least no blood or fur being found so the times when I don't see it, I assume no claws and teeth) so I'm not particularly worried about it at this time. Just hoping some time for them to figure each other out and be cool is all they need...
Also if anyone ever breaks into my house and needs Olive to hold still to get a picture, crinkle toys are evidently the silver bullet

Tippy made an oopsy and took his insomnia pill instead of his happy Pill so now I'm lying here instead of being at work

Potentially huge news for the Cute and Cuddly thread...
Your favorite poster on the forum (...no, not GoodBoyKaru...no, not Mooks...no not Gent for crying out loud, it's Tippy!!!!) reached out to the organization where I got Holly and Olive because I really liked working with them for my cats and I love cats (and puppers but this place mainly works with cats) and I've been looking for a volunteer opportunity.
I've volunteered with them and it just so happens that they needed a "caretaker" for their local partnership with the pet store. Basically someone to come into the store each day to feed and water the kitties (especially water, they'll stay tiny and smol if you don't properly water your cats!) and change the litter box and whatnot. So in theory, we're about to see a lot more new kitty pics!!!

That's so cool! Well done for volunteering like that, I am sure the kitties are going to really appreciate having someone so caring looking after them!

I've been looking for something else to kind of do for a bit now. Covid messed with that and the couple of organizations I looked into mostly had daytime opportunities but I have a standard 8-5 M-F Office Space job.
This just fell into my lap and was perfect. That store is right down the road from me (pending traffic lights, takes me up to 6 minutes to get there) so it was a perfect storm of an opportunity.

That's awesome. When I worked at petshop the employees were responsible for feeding/watering/changing litter box and the kitties barely got attention because we were limited for time. When I'd close/open I'd rush whatever crap I needed to so I could give the kitties extra love but it was inconsistent. It's good your rescue sends someone to do it.
Make friends with employees, maybe they'll let you snuggle other animals in the shop. It was like the one perk of working in petshop, access to animals I couldn't take home. 😂

Would post more kitty pics but Darryl won't let me take pics, he demands constant attention and love and snuggles when I'm in the room with them. Occasionally I can sneak pics when he's hanging out on my back. In this one he's switching off kneading my back and then the air. 😂
Dante still won't let me touch him 99.9% of the time. He does enjoy game of I put fist out and he swats at it with his paws and claws out. Currently taking a break from that game so my hand can heal so he attacks my slippers while I'm wearing them. He's definitely not as pleased, I think he prefers the sound and feel of his claws ripping through flesh. 😂 Husband made these pics after I sent video of Dante playing attacking my hand. First he made Mikey because Dante swatting me reminded him of Mikey stabbing. I said it's more like Freddy because of the claws.
Kitties have gotten so big over the last month. Dante still smaller than Darryl but he's definitely alot closer to same size now.
Here's Kazi snuggling her hedgehog toys - they're her absolute favorite. We have all the different sizes for her.
And here she is holding down my arm while she makes sure to get every last dusty crumb from her empty bag of treats. 😂

And finally, the Woman Hater (can't come up with a good name, she was supposed to get adopted out but kept growling and hissing at every woman that came to see her. I moved out from where I lived and had several service men come fix some stuff and she ran up to them for some pets and hugs, but the moment my mom or another female comes by, she goes into murder mode). Thinking to name her Pepper since she's spicy but I want a more unique two syllable name.

Holly never came out today. No idea where she was. It's dinner time so I've been looking for her, calling her name and trying to find her. Started to mildly panic as I start to wonder if she bolted out the door and I didn't notice...
She was in my closet. She had to have snuck in while I was getting my shirt out and I didn't know she was in there when I shut the door

We might be getting 3rd cat. It's a kitty that is stray "neighborhood kitty." We almost took it in a year ago in the fall but thought maybe someone owned the kitty because it turned up with like Frontline on it one day and then we didn't see it again until spring. Talked to neighbor we're friendly with and she told us that like 5 years ago it did belong to someone but when they moved they left the cat behind and since then random people in neighborhood feed it.
It came by Christmas eve and it looked like it was in bad shape, had ice in its tail and just looked not good. I reached out to the rescue we got kitties from and lady that fostered our kitties came by to catch the stray kitty. It's had one vet visit so far - vet is guessing it's about 8 years old which surprised us since it looked older, also even more sad someone abandoned it when it was so young. After some tests vet said it might be diabetic or atleast pre-diabetic, will have more tests sometime this week to be sure. We might adopt it because we're already pretty attached - just need to make sure our kitties get along with it. I think only way we don't adopt is if rescue knows of someone with experience with diabetic kitties that could give the kitty the best home.
Here's pic of the kitty with the foster after first few days indoors. Already looks way better than it did Christmas eve.
Here's my dog in Christmas, she was kinda comfy on blankets but then got up and scratched at blue blanket to have that put on top of her. 😂

I just have no idea how someone could possibly do that to an animal, especially as there are plenty of organizations that exist that will take the animal for free (or worst case scenario, friggin Facebook or some ish like that). While I'd never see myself giving up my cats, life does happen and sometimes it might be better for the animals to be rehomed but to just dump them on the street...
I got myself all flustered :D I'm gonna go bug my cat. You can't sleep right now kitty, Tippy needs to poke you to remind himself that cats are awesome and should never ever be abandoned!

I agree, I cannot wrap my head around just abandoning an animal like that. There's a no kill cat rescue less than 10 minutes from my neighborhood, there's legit no reason to just abandon a cat around here but people still do it. It was so frustrating when I worked at a petshop, a ridiculous amount of customers talked about how they wanted to abandon their pets (or worse) for dumb reasons like they were a picky eater.
Makes me sad for those animals but happy for mine that they're with me instead of with people like that...and hopefully they're happy to be with me too, or atleast happy with the food/treats/home/toys/etc. 😂

That friggin hurt cat!!! I don't think her claw was OUT out but trying to get Olive to stop being a dick at Holly so grabbed her as she took a swipe at Holly and clipped me with her nail. Don't make me chuck you into a snowbank cat!!!
(Please note I'd never ACTUALLY chuck my cat into a snowbank)
I'm not gonna let you be on The DBD FORUMS if you keep being a jerk Olive. Holly will get all of the glory if you don't stop taking swipes at her...
