Turn off the DC penalty, until you do something about the hackers.
Right now, I'm getting hostage by a hacker by him bypassing the EGC timer. I can't DC, because if I'll do it I will get penalized for nothing. I finished my presentation and essay today so I was thinking about playing some artist games and trying to master her as well as I can. First match and there is two hackers with broken flashlighs, insta-heals, 30 seconds long locker stun and all that stuff.
Allow us to Disconnect until you do something proper against hackers.
Comments
-
No. I'd rather not have literally unplayable matches unless I'm losing.
8 -
He finally decided to leave, look at this crap
2 -
Just disconnect. Your penalty should be only 5 minutes. Unless you disconnect more often...
1 -
And I'd rather DC and get to the next match, than getting penalized for not wanting to interact with hackers.
5 -
Yeah? What if you face another hacker? And after that another and another and another until you get 72h ban DCing against hackers? Even 5 minutes feels like it's unfair as #########
4 -
It's...5 minutes
1 -
That's just cool
0 -
Hackers - DC penalty =/= 0
Hackers - DC penalty = Hackers + lots of DCing
6 -
5 minutes of my precious time.
0 -
Yes, only five minutes of that.
1 -
Scirpt kiddies are not so common that players need to have unplayable matches so people can DC the 1 in 100 times they run into one.
3 -
No. The DC penalty is here to stay, get over it. Far more are negatively affected when it's off then those affected by script kiddies when it's on.
3 -
I agree. It's ridiculous how many I'm getting, they're all using VPNs too because of course.
1 -
I'm going to give you some sound advice. If your not having fun with the current state of dbd, play something else. BHVR isn't going to put any real effort into fixing the game so long as people keep playing.
4 -
DBD crashed my xbox and my tv, and I got the matchmaking lock due to "leaving" when dbd made my tv, xbox, and my controller all power down for no reason
0 -
What's your gamertag? I'll play
0 -
Bone splinter isn't even a real offering. It was retired
0 -
Sadly I have to agree with your comment.
2 -
That doesn't mean hackers can't still access it.
1 -
Yea, but whats the point if you can hack
0 -
It should be a real offering
COUGH COUGH
devs, please
COUGH COUGH0 -
How long is a reasonable match?
I think if a match lasts over 25 minutes, players should be able to DC without a penalty. Clearly, at that point, something is up.
3 -
Like two survivors hiding on the rim holding the game hostage?
Sorry, I don't want my prey to get away because of an arbitrary timer. I beat their team and I've earned the right to wait them out.
0 -
That would be a lot of hackers. Like... a lot.
0 -
Yes, 5 minutes you were gonna spend on what? Probably waiting for another game anyways, and the game would've probably been over in 5 minutes anyways because genrush, so I'm sure you didn't miss anything exciting
1 -
Play finally the game, it already is.
0 -
Oh, wow. Protecting hackers, perfect. Your logic is really outstanding.
2 -
So people can immediately quit the second they don’t like how it’s going because they’re too much of an immature self-centered jerk to care about ruining it for the other players? No thanks.
Going against hackers is rare. Get over it. Removing DC penalty is worse.
1 -
Wh...what? Alright, clearly you don't care about the logic I'm proposing, have a nice day
2 -
I mean, that's a falacy since it doesn't matter where OP would spend their five minutes of life.

If people wants to get out of the match, they just can simply suicide on the hook or do literally nothing in the match and run to get under the killer's. DC penalty causes must on people to stay in the matches with hackers, even if it's 5 minutes. That's too much of the time and it's very punishable. It's one of the most game design flaws.
In short: DC penalty is causing more bad than good. If people wants to rage quit from the matches, they're plenty other ways mentioned above. Idk why you're still arguing with me like it sounds like you really take a side with a hackers. Pretty arrogant.
0 -
I know it was removed, that's the point.
The hacker used the feature that was a while ago removed from the game and it isn't even the survivor's offering.
0 -
False, they weren't choosing to suicide on hook, they ARE choosing to DC. Your opinion doesn't change that. You're not getting your way on this one, even BHVR knows better.
2 -
Play the game and realize that. People are already suiciding if they want to quit the match.
0 -
Can't believe there are so many players that are actually protecting hackers. Disgusting.
3 -
I wish they would add a surrender option after 10 minutes. It would address all hostage situations and not just hacking. And there are a lot of ways the game can be held hostage. I am proud of this community for giving me such a variety of unplayable games.
1 -
Given my better understanding of the necessity for the DC penalty, I am quite sure I play more than you do. Also, is English not your first language? Trying to see if we should be going easier on you for your inconsistences with understanding what we're saying.
1 -
In short: DC penalty is causing more bad than good.
Wrong. Factually wrong. I've had DBD since launch. I've been there every time the DC penalty was turned off.
The SECOND I started winning as a Killer? Mass DCs. Survivors would only stay in the match if they were winning. Hence my comment of 'I don't want to have my only matches be ones where I'm losing.'
Just because you want to DC and use 'hackers' as an excuse doe snot mean we should remove the DC penalty and sllow people to run away like babies every time they start to lose.
No one is getting hackers every match. No one. For that to happen, more than half the player base would have to cheat.
1 -
Strawman arguments only hurt your already pointless case. Facing a cheater is incredibly rare. Facing a cheater that will try and keep you hostage instead of just auto-winning after a few minutes is even more incredibly rare. Every single time without fail that BHVR has disabled penalties because of crashing/server issues, people DCing over stupid moronic petty nonsense the second the game isn’t how they want it to go skyrockets. Removing DC penalty makes it far worse because it makes it way more often than facing a hyper rare hostage-holding cheater will ever occur.
2 -
Of course it's not. Polish is my native language.
Back to the point, the DC penalty doesn't solve something that should be solved, but that's the topic on different matter.
If you played as solo survivor, you could realize that players are countering the DC penalty by just simply doing nothing or just suiciding on the hook, if they don't want to play in the match. This is why DC penalty is such a terrible feature. Punish only players that don't want to play against hackers, while also not solving the main problem with people leaving the matches.
0 -
When did I say that I want to DC if other side is winning against me? I want DC penalty to be temporary blocked until they will solve the problem with hackers. Jesus, these people
0 -
And that is still not true. I get plenty of people willing to eat the 5 minute penalty because they feel like they're depriving me of that last hook, or the win, or whatever it is that runs through their silly brains.
The last time the DC penalty was off I was getting 1-3 DCs EVERY GAME. You need to understand that. The game wasn't playable.
1 -
Five minutes is enough time for me to close DbD and play something else. And that's what I do. 🤷♂️
1 -
Given the current state of the game...I'd say you're probably fighting up a muddy hill with 2000 pounds of cargo on your back and a video game controller in both hands. That being said, I would probably take it as a sign to put this game down for a while like a good amount of us already have. Death Stranding is a good game. Maybe some Civ 6.
Oh btw to the guy saying hackers aren't a problem or cheaters aren't that common.
The public hacks available for this game have been downloaded several thousand times so....do with that math what you will.
1 -
And you think the game with tremendous amount of hackers on high ranks is playable? Especially when they can hold you in game for like hours?
1 -
Yeah, and in that time it's 'temporarily blocked', I'll never have a match play to the end.
- First Survivor I find? DCs.
- Survivors see I'm playing <Insert disliked Killer here> (Basically; the entire roster); DCs.
- About to pick someone up? DCs.
- About to death hook someone? DCs.
- I snuff a totem? DCs.
- Survivors 3 gen themselves? DCs.
And Killers will DC as well for all sorts of petty reasons.
You are not finding enough script kiddies to warrant the entire game becoming unplayable. So stop asking.
2 -
Easy wins if you ask me. 3k guranteed, ayy!
0 -
There are not even a fraction of the amount of hackers you claim when compared to the amount of people who will DC just because they were found by the killer first, if the penalty was off.
Full. Stop.
2 -
I will stop asking whenever I want, thank you. I would prefer to have matches, when players are disconnecting than being hold hostage by hackers for hours.
0 -
It's not rare. They are mostly on high ranks with people that are very good at this game. With how badly the EAC is, the hackers are taking the game from over a few months.
