Are EPIC players displayed as crossplay players for steam players?
Hallo people of the fog,
I have a quick question:
Since Windows Story Players are displayed with the crossplay icon for me (a steam player), would EPIC players (and stadia) be displayes with a crossplay icon as well?
And consequently, when disabling crossplay for matchmaking, would that remove EPIC, Stadia and WIndows Store players from the lobbies as well?
Maybe you guess where I'm heading with this, to figure out whether it would be possible to avoid the hackers with free EPIC accounts by disabling crossplay?

Yes Epic have the crossplay icon if you are on Steam. The first time someone messaged me with a crossplay icon, I asked them if they were on Steam and they said they got the game free with Epic.

OK, so if we all would disable Crossplay for Matchmaking, the EPIC hackers would have to play with their own, right?

You are right.
Another thing to consider is that if you play killer, when cross-play is off, your chances of having 4-person SWFs appears to be much higher. Personally I'd rather take my chances against possible hackers but I don't encounter many.

I don't mind facing a 4-man as long as the players are not toxic / scummy. And recently, the in game toxicity (tbag, Fl-click, pointing) was really omnipresent for me when facing crossplay players. So I guess, not much to lose for me when switching off crossplay, right? No cheaters and overall less toxic players (if even just a bit).
