Keys and closed hatch.

Hello.

I was wondering does the key need to hold some Charge to be used to open a hatch closed by the killer or Charge is only for aura reading ability?

And does "Franklin's Demise" can affect usefulness of the key to open the Hatch? I know it may deplete Charges when dropped item is on the ground for to long, but does in also make impossible to reuse picked key to open the Hatch?

Please help :)

The charges on a key are primarily for aura reading abilities; HOWEVER a key needs to have at least some amount of charges left to be able to open the hatch, but it doesn’t matter how many as long as there is something. A key that’s been fully used up and doesn’t have any charges left cannot be used to open the hatch. This was a minor nerf to keys which took place shortly before the hatch mechanics were changed. If it has 1% of its charge left, that’s good enough, it just can’t be at 0.

If a survivor drops a key because of Franklins and it is not picked up before losing all of its charges, then it cannot open the hatch anymore.

Thank you for your answer, that helps a lot.

I still feel like this is a big disadvantage in current hatch situation. Especially for those players (myself included) that are trying to complete Archive challenges requiring to open the Hatch ("Hatch an escape" in 2nd Tome that requires to do that twice).
