DBD Needs a “Health Chapter”

DBD currently has a lot of issues that is made very clear by the fact that the game has been on a steady decline for months (reference: DBD’s player count on the steam charts). Survivor queues can be up to 12 minutes, playing as both sides can be frustrating due to MMR, the grind for perks is still an issue that keeps growing with each new chapter release, and there’s so much more that players have listed grievances over.

A solution that many players have been crying out for is a chapter release where the devs focus on the game’s health. No new killer or survivor, just a chapter of fixing all the problems plaguing the game. I think almost every single DBD player would be fully supportive of a chapter where we get buffs to perks that aren’t used at all, map balancing, buffs to solo queue for survivor, buffs to weak killers such as Clown, MMR tweaks to make it a little more bearable, and all these other things that DBD players have been begging a long time for.

If we as a community start pushing for this and start more discussions on this topic, Behavior might actually listen and consider it.

I do not feel it is as pressing of a concern as people make it out to be. They have been making health updates ratner consistently. And no offense intended, but after observing patch notes after patch notes, I am not interested in what they are cooking.

Only health it needs is to completely re write base game code for different engine. And that would take 6 maybe even 9 months without new content which is 100% not happening

I would guess more like 18 months to 2 years.

    This would not work.

    1. People want new content. Yes, it would be nice if the game had no bugs and other problems, but lack of content for 6 months will really thin playerbase.
    2. There are many people working on the game, and they have different qualifications. For example, graphics designers can't fix bugs. Releasing new content does not really slow down fixing problems, at least not to a degree you think it is.

Have you seen what Patrick and his team consider "health changes"? Clearly a whole chapter dedicated to health isn't what is gonna help.

We got a midchapter that was primarily focused on health, and everyone immediately kicked off that there was "nothing in it" and that it was "very disappointing", so I don't think the community would respond well to a health chapter in the least.
