Dying light buff

A buff to dying light

buff idea: Dying Light is no longer disabled when the obsession is dead, rather the number of stacks obtained is halved. No further stacks can be acquired even if a new obsession is made.

max stacks is now 10 (30% reduced healing and gen speed)

when the obsession is dead stacks reduced to a max of 5 (if you had the max of 10 already) and can no longer go up for the rest of the game, even if new obsession is made.

currently each stack of dying light is a 3% speed reduction to gen repair and healing, excluding the obsession who gets a 33% speed boost to healing and unhooking.

I don’t really see why it has to lose the stacks at all. STBFL doesn’t and has the same premise: go for everyone else besides the obsession. Not to mention the healing boost it gives to the obsession, STBFL gives nothing to survivors.

Dying light affects the gens and healing directly. Save the best only affects the killer. That’s why it doesn’t really matter if save the best keeps its stacks.

Hex: pentimento has a 30% gen slow down with first relit totem. Having dying light get to the max of 11 stacks (33%) along with pentimento would be broken.

reducing the max dying light stack to 10 (max of 30%) leaves a max of 5 stacks after the obsession is dead is then a 15% reduced gen and healing speed for every one in the trial for the rest of the game.

BUT getting to 10 stacks in the first place is difficult and rare. So even if you only get like 4 stacks before obsession is dead at least you get to keep 2 stacks (6% gen/healing slowdown) for the rest of the game.

That’s the point: if you have 11 stacks of Dying Light, you’ve already won the game. Unless you're expecting the last survivor to repair gens?

Pentimento is told to survivors it is in effect and can be broken.

I would be fine with Dying Light saving stacks if the obsession died. They already nerfed it to a place it’s ok if that happens. Prior it was just ‘He he obsession dies at any time, have fun with 25% slowdown the rest of the match survivors!’ Now it is based on hooking others besides the obsession.
