The lack of a gamma slider, especially on console, is unacceptable.
Any modern game you can think of has a gamma slider, even horror games (which DBD isn't really one). With how dark some recent map reworks are, I think it would make sense to add some sort of gamma or saturation slider. It doesn't have to be extremely robust, just a simple number you can change like with sensitivity or resolution scaling.
PC players get filters, which are actually semi-officially supported by BHVR as shown with NVIDIA filters, so why don't console players get something aswell?
You could make the argument that you can just change television settings but I don't think that's fair. People don't use their consoles, PCs, televisions, etc exclusively for Dead by Daylight. Using those massively increased brightness settings on other games would be ridiculous, and having to manually change brightness settings whenever you hop on DBD is also ridiculous.
TL;DR: every modern game has a gamma slider and this game is hella dark so give us one

But visibility in this game is part of the gameplay, because things like stealth exist for both survivors and killers. Actually, nobody should be able to temper with the visibility (and gamedetails. nothing is worse than hidding in a bush that is not even there for the other guy). But i doubt it will be changed. At least they fix streched res, which helps with looping. But i would like to have some decent stealth gameplay back.

Then why did they allow NVIDIA to support their filters with DBD? With NVIDIA filters the game company has to manually approve it, which means they're fine with filters.

I agree with this. Playing the Midwich map on Switch is like exploring an old abandoned house past midnight without any source of light.

Just turn up the brightness on your TV. Heck, I do that since I agree, parts of some maps are just too dark to play otherwise. (It’s a bit better since the reworks though. I remember the old version of The Game had parts of the basement that were so dark I literally couldn’t see the walls in front of me. It was terrible trying to move around and chase there without turning up the brightness a peg.)

It doesn’t work like that, especially on consoles like switch or on pc, gamma different to brightness

I know the difference between gamma and brightness, but turning up the brightness does help make the darker spots easier to see because they get brighter along with everything else.

True, however it can only go as bright as the screens display allows, so it wont work for pc or switch

What are you talking about? I literally turn my Brightness up from 50% to 70% on my PC when I play and it helps. I don’t know why you think it doesn’t work.

For some reason Autohaven on PC is really dark and on console it is fine. Although I do have to shut my curtains. I hope that isn't bannable.

some ppl just have dim monitors and stuff, it wouldn’t do any harm to add it as NVIDIA filters are supported

I suppose if someone has a really old monitor or something? Hard to imagine anybody runs their monitor or TV at literally 100% brightness all the time but maybe that happens. 🤷♂️
