There’s no point having a SBMM system if it’s completely disregarded when making matches

For those that don’t know... there are situations during match making that the devs have admitted where your SBMM rank isn’t taken into account at all, to speed up match making

I think everyone could stand waiting more than 5 seconds as a killer to join a lobby; if it would mean having a fair match. And I feel bad sometimes as survivor when playing against a killer that got thrown into the match that was unfair for them where they’re SBMM rating was clearly disregarded. It’s not very fun or exciting on the survivor side to basically take a leisurely stroll through the exit gate after 5 min. And I think anyone who rarely plays killer but always gets matched against skilled swf groups knows the frustrating feeling. It wastes much more time to be forced into these unfair unfun matches (where you finish with maybe 8000 bp), than to wait an extra 150 seconds for a match that’s more evenly matched.

I realize matchmaking is different for everyone depending on location and time of day, so I’m not saying people who feel they wait for ever to get in a lobby should have to wait even longer. Just give the matchmaking more than 5 seconds to try to find something balanced instead of just shoving players into any opening as quick as possible.

It’d be nice if there was an option you could choose in settings (like to allow cross play) whether to try to find fair matches over quick matches. So someone like me who would much rather have a fun match even if I have to wait 10 min could have that option.

    I always said that the easiest way for BHVR to silence all the salty and nagging players bad mouthing SBMM was to just disable it for a week.

    If your system was as awesome as you claimed, then this would silence the crowd for good.

    If on the other hand SBMM was as busted as we claimed, then... well, then you are exposed and any random M1 killer could out you doen.

    I think I found the flaw in my plan.

    I mean, killers can wait a minute or two, but can survivors wait an hour or two? that's the problem.

    I belive nobody playing killer is the main issue.

    I can safely estimate my MMR rating is about 0 to 10~ yet I still see the spill of very strong teams finding their way into my lobbies;

    I feel bad for any new player trying to get into the game in the last few months.

    I genuinely love the MMR. So many people blame it for everything. Facecamped? Blame MMR. Killers too good? MMR. Teammates bad? MMR again.

    The devs do insist that the MMR is accurate when its not prioritising quick matches. Now it is time to prove that by ringfencing the new and the bad, the average, the good and the elite.

    No Legacy flashlight moonwalking Nea, you can't play with me. I've got a team of default Dwights to kill.
