Playing against a nurse is a waste of time

Like the Billy rework?

Problem with M1 Killers is if the survivors are good then it is pointless to play because you really can't do much against them unless you get one of the better maps. If the survivors are bad then it is also pointless because it's going to be a 5-minute 4-kill with MAYBE one or two gens done. There's rarely any middle ground.
Difference is that M1 Killers are far more likely to face good survivors than survivors facing good Nurses.

My, my, my. So many people claiming they'd rather be inept at a game they enjoy then actually play nurse for a few games to understand how to beat her.
This forum needs to have an auto-replace rule for the word 'boring' where it gets changed to 'spanking me so much I'd rather DC in shame.'

You are man xD.
I was trying to complete the tome and my games were like - Nurse , Blight, Trapper with Bag + Iri camping 3gen, another blight, Sadako, Nurse and another Nurse with oneshoot build.
SoloQ Life is not for weak people

Its a weird trend on this fourum that killers agree to buff the "bottom" of survivors to match the top cwf, while survivors prefer to gut top killers to kick them to the weak rest of the roster.
Why is it we need to gut the good killers and give them stupid roars?

I love looking at the replies to this thread. You know exactly who the Killer players pretending to be survivor players are.
On another note, I have a feeling the Nurse will be a self-correcting problem. Nurse is becoming a defunct killer because survivors are no longer willing to go against her.
1 -
Nurse power is fine. Maybe rework some add-ons b/c a lot of them are just to meme.
if survivors dc it's b/c they feel entitled and are selfish. A high skill nurse main can still lose all 5 gens against competent survivor teams. If you dc or suicide on 1st hook you're punishing the team to a bad game as well as yourself.
From all the comments about nurse needs a rework or she is "boring", it sounds more like these are players who don't want to change the way they play survivor. Nurse is unique in that you can't just run in a straight line to a pallet then tea bag for safety. It actually makes the game more fun to have something different to deal with.

I think "teams" is a good point. If ur solo queue or even playing with one other person they will not win against a high level nurse
0 -
Because they don’t have the info SWF does, which is the issue, not Nurse. And is exactly what BHVR is looking to reduce the gap between by giving more info to solo.
1 -
Billy could use a few tweaks to make him feel less clunky, but I feel like he is mostly fine. Nurse is busted when played by a good player that knows how to use her.
2 -
Yes there will always be a gap between solo and swf. playing at high level does require awareness of what the team is doing (or at least should be doing) so you know what you need to be working on. It's honestly the same with any killer. but with the top tier killers like nurse/blight it's so much more important.

I've faced 5 this week and I play about 3 or 4 survivor games per night 😅 Like a 25% nurse rate and Im still to play at midnight tonight 🙃
0 -
What about good Billys? Are they suddenly also busted?
The argument that good nurses are busted isn´t really a valid statement for me. Simply because the amount of good nurses is so incredible small.
Her kill rate is already the lowest one and i firmly believe that it would be even lower, if some survivors didn´t instantly disconnect/suicide when they face her. Instead of learning how to play against her.

And so you outed yourself as part of that minority players who thinks there are two camps and plays one role only.
Usually players play both roles. That's also how they are generally better than the ones who limits themselves.
I just love going against Nurse. It's so much fun countering her and exploiting her many weaknesses. Of course I know how she works and I like a challenge. (I used to love going against Spirit too but she is rare now, and the mind-games have gone.)
If Nurse is so busted, why don't you show us? Take her for a spin, win a lot of games, reach high MMR* and show us how you win almost every time. (I'm not holding my breath.)

Probably we should remove soloq then? because game balance doesn't work for them, they are always bad team no matter what and no killers should be balanced around guaranteed bad team I suppose?
1 -
No, soloq is often a PITA but I get a good chunk of good games with good survivors. Almost all my friends have given up on the game a while ago already so that's my only way to play survivor. (Besides, it's not worse than the killer experience)
2 -
When your first sentence is completely wrong and everything after it completely relies on that first argument. Yeah, that's exactly what happened to you.

Playing this unbalanced game is a waste of time in general.
1 -
To be fair, games usually are.
0 -
The threat is unfun for many. The feeling of being able to do nothing isn't a fun one.
1 -
I destroyed both her totems right at the start of the match, and she killed us all with just Dragons Grip and no add-ons. If the player has mastered Nurse it is tough to beat.
0 -
But they aren't "able to do nothing" they just want to do that same thing they always do and be rewarded for it. There is plenty of gameplay to be had even against a good nurse.
How much do we have to pander to the I only have fun when I win crowd?
3 -
I've done that multiple times with Trapper and Myers, does that mean they need nerfs or am I just uber good at the game and don't know it?
What elements of your own gameplay may have lead to that happening?
what RNG elements may have led to that happening?
Was nurse OP or were you just really bad as a team against her that game?
1 -
I'm a killer main, just saying a good nurse can ignore mechanics of the game and it isn't fun for a lot of people. Survivors can only use the mechanics they have available and nurse literally ignores those things.

You probaly have put your finger on something.
You know, that sensitive thing called ego.
1 -
No :/

Last night I played against a Nurse that mercilessly rinsed us (4K with 4 gens left), but later in the same session I went against a baby nurse who didn't get a single down.
Now that was probably an MMR hiccup, but Nurse can be a dichotomy, so I always give it my best. If it's a lost cause, it'll be over quick anyway.
1 -
The issue with nurse is even prepatch she was one of the most dangerous killers, so of course once this patch hit and made killers much more powerful and nerfed survivors it made her godlike.
0 -
People will just tab out and wait to die. Can't force people to participate in a match that they don't want to play.
0 -
I agree. I just started playing again for the first time in a while and had a few matches against Nurse. They were miserable. If the Nurse is any good, not much you can do.
0 -
What you play really has little bearing on it.
Nurse can bypass a lot of things but she can still be juked, pallet stunned, and mind gamed.
So my point still stands, there is counterplay against nurse she just takes a lil more focus than the average dullard is willing to put in.
1 -
I don't blame them, it's unfun to go against a good Nurse.
1 -
My score proves I did my best. Don't resort to insults to prove whatever point you have.
0 -
We could have done better as a solo q random team, sure. Most of the team tried and died but never gave up and that is all you can ask for.
1 -
How they could penalise suiciding on hook? That is game mechanic so they should then just remove the chances to unhook yourself maybe that you have one try but after that you have to wait. They should then also change it to 8% of chance to escape when it's now 4%.

I don't think advocating for DC/giving up is a healthy mentality, but Nurse is the exception to the rule. Whether she's good, mediocre, or bad the design of Nurse practically means there is no agency for the survivor. Everything is up to the Nurse.
She's miserable to go against because you're not actually playing DBD - you don't get to use pallets, loops, any mind games. It's just a generator simulator until the Nurse wants to down you, and she will without you being able to stop her.
So yeah, until she's reworked I will continue to kill self or DC against her.
2 -
Nah, her skill ceiling isn't that high. Killers like Blight or Huntress are harder than her if we talk about skill ceiling. Once you get past the curve of Nurse and access her skill floor, she's easy to master.
She fundamentally needs a rework.
1 -
Not really, if other option doesn't exist, people gonna play the game anyway.
I'm pretty sure killer AFK rate is much lower than killer DC rate with free DC.
0 -
So your solution to the problem of a large portion of the community refuses to engage with part of the game is to hold a penalty to then to force them to participate.
Ok. Many on the forum want a symbol for swf. If this was implemented but if the killer leaves they receive a temp ban, would you support this?
0 -
People will NOT play the game, trust me. They will absolutely dig in their heels and not play the game.
0 -
Do the DCs happen before or after Starstruck hits everybody?

Great. Another "we love nurse" thread.
You guys just need to caaaaalm dooooowwwn.

The most absurd lie these nurse mains say is that playing against nurse is a pure skill 50/50 interaction.
Do they actually think that? Do they not realize that a good nurse can put the survivor into many situations where no matter what the survivor chooses to do the survivor is getting hit.
How is that a 50/50 interaction? Do they actually think that? I'm fairly certain the people defending nurse in all these threads just don't know how to play her well enough.
There are many, many situations where no matter what the survivor does the nurse is getting that hit. Why even lie about that?
5 -
None of which requires nurse to be nerfed.
1 -
Instead of saying that the bad nurse is too strong, create a Youtube channel dedicated to "How to counter a nurse in DbD", at least, it will be a better use of your time. 😄

I've done that enough on my live stream. I explain how to go against survivors as killer, and how to go against killer as survivor.
It's truly sad so many nurse players deny how once you reach a certain skill level as nurse you will beat equally skilled players just by playing her. That ain't balance. Like, sorry so many of those nurse players in this thread haven't reached that level, but many many people have.

I feel the need to distinguish between good and average nurses. If it's a good nurse, then yeah, she'll just 4k in 2-3 minutes. But against an average nurse who you can still counter, it can be pretty fun.

4k in 3 mns means 1 hook every 15s 😹 a little bit surrealist, no ? 😁
0 -
To me nurse is almost just Muscle memory. I think a huge amount of killers have a higher skill ceiling
1 -
No. 4k in 3 mns means 4-5 hooks if nurse slugs
