Lore-Based Sadako tweak

So before I start, I just wanna state that I'm actually a MASSIVE fan of Sadako being added to this game. The animations, the sound effects, the power, all of it is VERY pleasing and fun to play as/against. To me. I know this is just my opinion.

But also - she doesn't have the BEST pressure at the moment. Her 1v1 is just barely more unique than an average m1 and her 4v1 is spotty even when you use condemnation effectively.

So I was thinking about how in the original movie, as well as the English remake, the idea of the tape is slightly different than it is applied here

**SPOILER ALERT... WHY ARE YOU HERE?**

You remove Sadako's curse by showing someone else the tape and starting *their* 7 days. I know that this idea had to be compacted into a match-based concept to make it work in DBD but... "spreading her message" to remove some curse progress DOESN'T "spread her message" at all. It turns off TVs and does not affect other survivors at all. Wouldn't it be at least a BIT more lore-accurate to LEAVE ON a TV after inserting the tape, and adding Condemnation stacks to another player? At least one? The movie reveals the solution of getting Sadako off your back by giving her another target. It's self-preservation. That isn't scarce in DBD.

What do you all think?

Being lore-faithful is just lip service, despite what people like Pixelbush seem to think. The condemned was designed to be a 'strong' mori (so that nobody could call for buffs) while concealing how terrible a mechanic it is, just one more killer power totally in the hands of survivors.

They'll never add the ability to directly sandbag another player like that.

Don't get me wrong, survivors get a lot of control in this game...

    ...A LOT...

But the way I see it, most creative uses of giving Killers powers are gonna require Killer-Survivor interaction:

-survivors can disarm traps (Trapper, Hag)

    -survivors can cleanse/vaccinate (Plague, Nemo)

-survivors can focus on heals to prevent giving up blood (Oni)

-survivors can rush to caged mates to remove Torment (PyraH)

-survivors can designate a person to solve the Box (PinH)

I can go on. Giving the survivors absolutely NOTHING extra to do other than gens and survive can get boring. In fact, I think that this new focus on giving Survivors a brand new Killer-specific objective is VERY fun. But these extra objectives have to be tweaked to be powerful enough to not make it feel like the Killer is neutered every time it is fought.

You can grab the last vaccine against Nemo. You can rescue a mate in cage when someone else needs to remove torment. Hell, purposely selfish perks exist. I think this is the same in comparison.

Plague is the best example. It's an actual strategic decision to cleanse as you must choose between staying injured but denying her the stronger version of her power, or healing but giving it to her. For instance, cleansing in a dead zone so that at least if she does go for it, she'll be wasting time going there.

Sadako's power has no thought behind it because it's pathetically easy to remove condemned and it does nothing until the very high requirements are met. It's so bad that good survivors deliberately get condemned while healthy to provoke the killer into going into a bad chase.

This sounds pretty neat in concept and for smart survivors it could be an incredibly fun mechanic to play around always shifting contamination around and trying to take one for the team without dying but for worse or less coordinated survivors this could quickly become annoying with too self interested survivors potentially causing the death of or at least applying unnecessary pressure to others for no real reason. There is also the possibility of trolling by spam giving someone else condemned till they die this could be limited by having the amount transferred reflect the amount the transferrer has making it so that they transferrer would have to be constantly getting themselves condemned to really affect others but it still wouldn't be too hard to simply wait till the right moment and add just enough condemned to screw someone else over. It'd be really cool if this could work but I'm not sure it could.

A great point, and I would not be surprised in the slightest to see that kind of play.

The only critique I have of your proposed idea is the part where passing on condemnation would reflect how much the first person has. This would also be inaccurate to the lore since spreading Sadako's curse to someone else starts them on day 1. Also - passing on more than one condemnation stack sounds like way too much sandbagging. Even to me - and I'm the one stirring the pot here about spreading condemnation.
