both are allowed but hook camping SHOULD in 99.999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999% of all cases be a fast win for survivors since it takes 80 sec to do a gen solo, 47.5 to do one duo, and 37 - 38s to duo one with prove thyself a hook stage is 60 sec so a hook camp equals 2 minutes lost time 0 the time it took you to chase him down and hook him... the problem isnt hook camping hookcamping theroetically is teh quickest way to lose in DBD but the problem is that SURVIVORS DOESNT DO GENS once again SURVIVORS DOESNT DO GENS SURVIVORS DOESNT DO GENS SURVIVORS DOESNT DO GENS SURVIVORS DOESNT DO GENS SURVIVORS DOESNT DO GENS SURVIVORS DOESNT DO GENS SURVIVORS DOESNT DO GENS!!!! the tutorial gives you no advice on what to do against a hook camper and since we have this wonerfull MMR your matched with people that has 7000 hours 2000 hours 200 hours and 20 hours

slowdown perks help and if your actually good at killer it goes even slower try Dead Man's Switch and Scourge Hook: Pain Resonance... no way out gives u extra time at the end etc.
I do agree on one thing some maps have an absurd amount of pallets... and safe loops played one match a few weeks ago as hag had shack connected to 2 jungle gyms... While i do like that they fixed Dead Hard and i dont like dead hard at the start of the hit validation (fix) i got a lot of false hits which was annoying but that has stopped happening the only time i really suffer from dead hard is with twins when i just slide of them and i am crossmap with charlotte... or nurse and you have to charge up 1 or 2 blinks again otherwise its pretty much fine (i think they should remove the i frames from it) CoH is an issue YES dead hard isnt really an ISSUE i can manage... CoH is straight up a faster selfcare that ur whole team can use

I STILL DONT UNDERSTAND WHY DEAD HARD NEEDS A REAL NERF?? i personally think the i frames should be removed yes but its not game breakingly op... CoH is a faster selfcare ur whole team can use for 1 perk slot yes i want it gone just get it fu**ing outta here... camping still existed before CoH i've been camped since 2017 and back then we could self care after 2 pallets.... The thing is hook camping once again isnt a good strategy the only reason people do it is because it works due to survivors not using 2% of their brain... if the killer camps you do gens and you can trade at the end of the 2nd hook stage but my teammates doesnt do that for a reason when we are getting hook camped IM THE ONLY ONE ON GENS and i cant keep up since it takes 80 sec to do a solo gen...
killers what they have to do... i tried a hook camping day like 3 weeks ago when the kills = skills was a thing and i got 1 kill on 90% of my matches i got 1 4k against some troll survivors pointing at me and #########... and i had like 2 or 3 2ks...
and once again my endgame stats are always better when im not camping not only do i get 3x the bloodpoints i get more average kills more gg wp! comments from survivors and i have a funnier match

The problem is survivors yes, but that is due to MMR no one asked for MMR no one wants it... its a joke how i can get matched with 7000 hour survivors and some matches are with 200 hours survivors ITS A JOKE... played a match against a spirit 1 month ago and 2 of my teammates got hooked within the first 20 sec and i was like fun a hacker... but it was just a normal spirit?? how tf does 2 people die within the first 20 seconds....
The only thing they can do about it is nerfing killers that are camping, fix the MMR so you are matched with equal skill so higher upp camping doesnt work... or c) nothing and keep their 2kills 2 escapes wonderfull juicy ratio

Congrats; now no one wants to play Killer. Because they have an uphill battle every match due to nerfs, and get insulted by salty Survivors if they DO win. Game is dead.

+ killers mains are already quitting haha whats the point? they gave up on us killers a long time ago... the killers left are the ones that hook camp and doesnt give a F about their match... this leads to survivors wanting something gone and survivors are their cry babies so they will get it... BHVR is gonna make some hocus pocus sh*t and ruin killer even more for killer mains like you and me...
there is some changes you could make without nerfing killer to counter hook camping that would be to make Camaraderie / kinship infinite within that 16 meter range like it pauses ur hook timer when a survivor is within a 16 meter range (or maybe make it like 12) and the progress countinues when you walk outside... why would this work? well if the killer is just standing there you can block the timer and the killer has to chase you away from the hook in order for the progress to continue... why cant we have this? people will abuse it... so at the end of the day we are getting a nerf and its either a killer nerf or a perk buff for survivor whether you like it or not which is a shame since i cant play afk deathslinger anymore..

Yesterday was constant camping and tunnelling. Same today. Except today there’s been far more dc’s on survivor side or just people killing themselves on hook.
im just going to play killer instead for a few days because survivor has been torture.

Fair enough. You articulate yourself well.
My point about CoH isn't that camping is a direct counter. It's just killers are fed up of the state of the game, Boon Totems are another kick in the groin that makes the game harder for killers when it was already survivor sided.
And CoH 100% means tunneling is the only option.

yes tunneling is pretty much the best counter against against CoH now u dont need to tunnel off the hook but slugging, hitting several people is useless :)

This isn't about mistakes from either side. This is about a playstyle that killers have, face-camping and tunneling-off-hook-till-dead, that are only countered if a player happens to bring in Decisive Strike and a team mate happens to bring in Borrowed Time. Both of those counters are behind paywalls, either cash or bloodpoints, so new players don't even have access to counter these strategies that every single killer has from level 1 up.

Don't get pissy with survivors, the majority prefers hit-and-run over camping and tunnelling, but the devs have a really weird concept of 'fun' and they want to maintain the boring playstyles while crippling what people play DBD for.

once they nerf sfw in some way and let killers able to have a chance to do something i will keep face camping to get my one kill at the end of the game or during depends on how the game goes but i try to try and avoid doing it.

What the Survivors 'prefer' should not mean anything to the Killers. And vice-versa.
Neither side should have any say in what they 'prefer' the other side to do, because those views are inherently biased. Since they also 'prefer' to win.

Funny, the compromises tend to be 'Killers can't do <list of 40 things Survivors find 'unfun'>'. But the second Killers say 'What about gen speeds?' the answer turns into 'Git gud. Gens are fine'.
It's almost like 'The health of the game' is just a smokescreen for 'Whatever Survivors demand'.

That list of things survivors don't want to see are things that also necessitate fast gen speeds. Every time there's a complaint about tunnelling or camping? 'just clear gens faster'
Then they do, and the other half of the killerbase starts complaining.

- Survivors complain about camping.
- Killers say they camp because gen speeds are too fast & they're pressured to get a kill ASAP.
- Survivors say gen speeds are fine, and Killers would camp anyways.
Once again; it's like only one side is supposed to compromise.
I know I'd camp less if I did not feel like 3 gens always popped in the first chase.

I've made posts requesting to slow gen speeds down and give survivors options to counter face-camping and tunneling-off-hook-till-dead.
Survivors need some type of built in counter to face-camping and tunneling-off-hook-till-dead and I also agree that gen speeds need to be slowed down at the same time.

I've made some suggestions about empowering killers and improving gen regression or slowing gen speeds/increasing risk for survivors, but I still get pigeonholed as some whiny survivor main.

And here we have the biggest problem, "AT THE SAME TIME". Sadly behaviour has never managed that in the history of DBD, afaik.
Always one side gets the hammer and then "let's see how that works" and in then something other gets changed and the original "test" gets forgotten and left in game.

Maps are a big big game design mess because of High Mobility killers vs Normal Mobility Killers. High Mobility Killers such as Nurse, Blight, Oni, Billy, etc, etc benefit from smaller maps exponentially compared to normal mobility killers. My perception has always been that BHVR balances the high mobility killers with larger maps. It's unfortunate for low mobility killers but on the other side, it would require high mobility killer nerfs.
So map design is a big mess because of killer speeds.

Put a Nurse, Spirit or Blight specifically on Dead Dawg, Coal Tower, Shelter Woods or Wrecker's Yard and you're helpless.
I love Dead Dawg Saloon design and would love that proportion of buildings and multi-levels to be implemented on Shelter Woods and Wrecker's Yard.

We don't have data on those maps. From what I've seen, they are not in the games I've played, compared to other killers.

I think it is accurate but people are not understanding the context it is in. When someone sees a Nurse with a 40% kill rate, people don't understand that 40% is across all levels of play. In context, the Nurse is a very complex and difficult to learn killer, so new Nurses are going to have extremely high escape rates and there are a large number of players in the lower levels of play. However, high skilled Nurse players at high levels of play have high kill rates.
I think the problem is people need to think about context when seeing statistics instead of just accepting them as is.
Also, I think BHVR really needs to separate the kill rates of killers into at least 3 levels of play, Low, Mid and High so people have a better idea of what is happening.

well at the end of the day i cant choose which survivors i play with can i? we have MMR which just takes in randoms from all ranks and we cant see their perks so we dont know if they are playing serious.... im usually pro killer and i think dbd is really survivor sided but at the end of the day they are gonna have to do something... why? killers are already leaving and survivors will too...

but there is TONS of perks you can bring to slow down the game or give you extra time like no way out... deadlock, Dead man's switch, pop, ruin, Oppression, surge OR BRING CORRUPTTT IT WILL SOLVE THE PROBLEM OF LOSING 3 GENS AT THE START!!!!!!!!!!!! + your mindset is dumb (im sorry but it is) you are REALLY EXPECTING SURVIVORS TO NOT POP 3 GENS???? the first 2 gens are basically free... dont go in with a mindset to keep all gens. a good first chase can still give the survivors time to do 2 gens thats okay TRY TO GET A THREE GEN!!! and once again think that the first 2 gens are basically free there is nothing you can do about it :)

There's also TONS OF PERKS Survivors can use, yet they seem to think those perks should be free just so they can use the 4 META perks while still countering literally any Killer play style.
Funny h ow your mindset never seems to be accepted in reverse. It's always 'Survivors should get <50 perks to counter everything> basekit! But Killers should just stop using their 4 META perks for once!'

What I'm saying is make maps more fair and perks more fair then it would be reasonable to touch camping. As of right now there really isn't and incentive if you got mothers dwelling as trapper to go and chase someone compared to getting a single kill and taking it.

Because if you don't get a kill by the time they're at about 3 gens, then you've probably lost. And 2 gens can get done before a chase is over.
