Dead hard nerf
More and more people are using DH
From what the dev's have said about balancing overused perks, this one has to be the no.1 survivor perk at the moment.
Tried to think of what the killers no.1 perk might be since Ruin died

They said they’re reworking it in the last Q&A stream.

From what the dev's have said about balancing overused perks
what did they say about overused perks?

Pretty sure it was about a lot of people using Hex: Ruin, so they nerfed it.
1 -
And undying. But undying was bs even if it was underused so.
2 -
Ruin and hex perks are useless on killers thanks to COH meta as soon as the game starts survivors are looking for totems and they find your hex's quickly plus a lot of them will spawn next to a gen or a survivor spawn next to a hex totem totally balanced but survivors can abuse Dead Hard it's the only used exhaustion perk now check every post game screen and I guarantee the majority 90% of times 4 survivors are using it ..

Yeah, but they explicitly stated their reasons why they changed Ruin (wouldn’t even call it a nerf tbh). And it being overused was like one of three or four reasons. Another was old Ruins passive nature, which definitely doesn’t apply to Dead Hard…

I wasn't around back then I admit, I mostly just heard the "it was overused"

That’s what those people that like to complain about everything focus on. Here is their official statement:

Thanks :)

Were you even playing? Underused? It was literally in every game, it was stupidly broken when it was released
It wasn't the "main" reason. They reworked it because it was ridiculous against newer players, but on average or more skilled players it was barely a nuisance and from the killer it required zero input. So basically it penalized those who needed to be penalized the least, while being almost useless against the players it should have actually worked on
Edit: reading through the thread, I see you were already answered

That was one of like 5 reasons.

Here we go again with that urban legend of overused perks.

They nerfd shadowborn back in the day because every killer ran it lol.

In their live streams they repeatedly said they were looking at it because of how often it was used and due to it's high usage it made it difficult to tell what problems with gen progression speeds needed to be addressed. They also said they had to scrap several perk ideas because of how they would be OP when paired with ruin.

Yeah they're 'looking' at it, I.E., thinking about maybe one day possibly beginning the process of beginning to contemplate perhaps just maybe making minor changes to it. Expect concrete results when the game has sub 20k average
3 -
No, they were very clear back in the day that Ruin was nerfed because it was too punishing for newer players, while having only minor effect on higher tier players.

I prefer this ruin than old ruin.

Pain Resonance.

Bhvr will not do it.

Ruin was changed because it was hard on new players. "Unfun"
Undying was changed because of Ruin. No other Hex synergized with it.
It's not about most used but how it is used by the players.

Well, make all regression perks but pop trash perks, as survivor exhaustion perks are. And you’ll always see pop. That’s what’s happens with dh

Lithe is good, so is SB

Ruin did NOT die. Even with boons causing survivors to avidly search for totems I STILL see killers devoting half their build to ruin + undying.

Yes, because when I feel like giving a brilliant example of a nerf, I think of one from patch 1.0.5 which, for anyone that wasn't quite around back then, released on the 4th August 2016. A very recent change, I must say
