DS Should Activate For Both Hook States
DSing the killer nowadays is almost a death sentence since the killer is just going to tunnel you out of the game. Context of what lead up to the DS doesn't even matter, you can just get tunneled straight off the hook and the killer will act like its a personal attack. Its just extremely boring gameplay, especially with the stale meta right now of tunneling the first person to death then making it a 1v3.
I understand that this may sound too strong, but this will really only punish the killers who act like getting hit with DS is the most toxic thing on the planet then tunnel and camp you. The killers who play normally and hook one after another or slug won't even notice such a change considering DS is always in the back of their minds.
This obviously wont stop the killer from just hard tunneling you, but it'll make it much more punishing for them.

Okay but only if DS is disabled or shortened during the EGC

Given how many times a killer can hook someone else before still being bitten by DS, it would also need to be disabled if the killer has hooked or maybe downed someone else.

Still not enough second chances eh?

The hard truth is aggressive tunneling is generally super efficient. I personally dont mind that change to ds, but something would have to be done about the game balance so that not tunneling could be more viable to win games.

Agreed

That should happen with DS regardless

Disable when last gen done.
Current DS punish fair play killers more than tunnelers.
No DS? Good, tunneling to death.
Have DS? Good, now you dont have DS anymore, tunneling to death.
While I eat multiple DS in end game because I didnt tunnel earlier which they save DS

Having a permanent DS would be the worst idea. On the one hand, if the killer has decided to tunnel someone he has taken a liking to, he will do so, even if it means losing all the generators.
Second, if all survivors have a permanent DS, it would allow those who are really toxic to play with multiple DS at the end of the game on purpose.
Remember that at the end of the game, when all the generators are done, and the objective is the exit door, it's a race against time, and the concept of "Ok, I won't hang it again, I'll go see what's going on somewhere else" doesn't make much sense anymore.

Yeah no. Non tunneling killers would get more punished by this. Since once the gates are powered, it would result in a guaranteed escape.
I see between 3 and 4 DS per match. So DS obviously is meta and doesn't need any buffs.

"The killers who play normally and hook one after another"
You get to decide what's normal for Killers, right?

Id be down for that

Perhaps "non-toxic" would be a better phrase.

Disabled please.

Agreed. But, shorten it's timer then. Or give the survivor an incapacitated effect for its duration.

If there was counterplay to a survivor farming you off hook without BT and the killer immediately downing you then I'd agree. However, reworked DS has so many restrictions that you can't even progress the game without deactivating the perk, which is a great thing, but the gameplay that follows hitting the DS tends to be extremely boring.
But Dead Hard can just go get deleted from the game.

Agreed and it should be disabled during EGC

Nah it shouldn’t. The skill check should be bigger tho

potentially 8 DS in a match. Hell yeah. Let’s get those survivor que to 30+min
2 -
The automatic idea is bad. I’m not a fan of ds being used twice. The only thing it needs is for the skill check to be bigger. Ever since the new wiggle mechanic, its gotten weird
1 -
Make DS trigger every time you get picked up automatically, because skill checks are too hard

Tunnel-off-hook-till-dead is way more efficient than the skill required to pull it off. The skill level to tunnel someone out of the game is extremely low, compared to what it gives you. Tunneling a survivor out of game before survivors are at 2 gens, generally means the killer wins.
I personally think there should be a watered down version of BT and DS base kit with the following caveats.
- Can't be used during EGC
- Only works off the 2nd hook.
- Only works if the hook survivor has not done anything besides partially heal and a BT body-block, between the 1st and 2nd hook. (A fully healed survivor would not get it but a partially healed survivor would)
That allows for BT and DS to still be viable perks but gives survivors some type of defense against Tunneling-off-hook-till-dead and Face-Camping, both of which needs built in counters.

Entitlement of deciding -- whats toxic and whats not is toxic.
