Boon: Circle Of Healing Pretty Much Died In Terms Of Usage (NVM)
In 8 Trails, CoH was brought 3 times.
If my math is correct, which it probably is thanks to @burt0r, then it has been brought into The Trial around 37,8% of the time.
What happened? Legion buffs came out so CoH went into hiding until the Legion hype dies down, probably.
EDIT: Math bad, had to fix, now better

Perk was nerfed twice with one of the most boring killers being buffed. I just went straight back to running DS, adrenaline, dead hard, bt
27 -
Nice joke, but it's not 1st April you know.
29 -
Who the hell even came up with this abomination of a perk? Probably some 10 hour survivor mains in the dev team.
23 -
Freddy is more boring. Legion at least has good music
3 -
I'm not joking
1 -
Yeah, the Perk was a bad idea
5 -
I’ve seen it in all but one of my killer games yesterday. I didn’t count, but I’m guessing that would be around 7 matches, and sometimes it was more than 1.
5 -
I see it still almost every game.
19 -
Guess I'm lucky
0 -
Depends on your mmr.
I see it in all my killer games, but hardly see it in my survivor games, if i don't run it. It was the same before the nerf.
0 -
Funny thing is like alot of things its still good in the hands of a good survivor and just bad in the hands of a bad survivor. It's good, just not easy and OP.
So many people rush to boon in the open, when in reality you should do a gen and place a boon there as the killer has no reason to go there meaning you sacrifice a small time booning once for a match long effect
0 -
Its a trash perk now, designed to help killers win the game.
You take ages to set it up and you heal slower with it than with self care.
Using this boon throwing the game
3 -
That is incredibly false.
24 -
That's factually incorrect.
Self-Care takes 32 seconds.
CoH takes 21.3 seconds
20 -
Did you take into account setting up the boon? Wasting time to walk over a totem to bless it?
That time could be used on gens, its throwing the game vs high level killer, unless you are on comms with a team.
2 -
4 survivors run DS, DH, BT, AD are 16 perks. But if 1 survivor replace a BT with Coh, they have 23 perks (x4 Self care & x4 Botany)
I like playing fair and prefer hit-run play style, which BT, DS never affect me (unless a BT body block next to a window in end game). I prefer survivors not using Coh.
5 -
Self-Care takes 32 seconds flat
That's 40% of a Generator.
CoH takes 21.3 seconds + bless (which should never be in an area with Generators) takes 14 seconds (only once).
That's 44% of a Generator.
CoH also only needs to be brought by 1 Survivor and allows every Survivor to heal means you'll have overall more Generator time than with 4 Self-Cares
6 -
They probably just don't want their whole team to Self-Care in corners
0 -
Placing CoH in a corner of the Map is possibly the best place to place it
5 -
Don't know, I still hear it almost every match. Didn't do a statistic though. But nothing changed much.
1 -
Tbh I wonder if anyone is just not using it right now because legion is popular atm and healing against legion is usually a waste of time.
But overall I think people are overestimating the nerf, again, which is exactly what happened last time too.
2 -
Yeah, Legion changes probably affected CoH usage, along with the "weird" Perk description, where it sounds like it has the same speed as Self-Care
1 -
This would be cool if it wasn't a lie
0 -
I'm using Killer Luck Offerings
0 -
Yeah I’m kinda waiting for legion to die down in popularity a bit and then see what happens.
When it was nerfed from 100 to 75, I did start seeing it a bit less in my games on both sides (but not that much less), even though it felt like it had around the same impact as before the nerf in the games it was present in.
1 -
Yeah its as dead as DS after its nerf.
8 -
I back to no heal meta. I put Resilience and Adrenaline back to my builds. Genrush and get heal at end game better than current CoH.
1 -
Adrenaline is way more popular than usual, it has appeared around twice the amount of CoH, around 5.5%
0 -
It is not surprise. CoH is still very good perk but now no heal is stronger. Res is rewarding me for staying injured. It's makes generators faster and vaults stronger. And Adrenaline rewards me as well.
It's so sad. BHVR made new mechanic for change meta but except CoH, all of boons are garbage. And i can see another nerf for CoH and it will die too after next nerf. BHVR failed again.
1 -
I disagree with not healing being stronger than CoH.
Not healing means you're having 1 Health State chases, unless you're using Dead Hard, in which case you have 2 Health States, which is a normal chase that lasts around ~45-60 seconds.
With CoH, not only are you healing incredibly fast, but your chases can have up to 3 Health States thanks to DH, so your chases will last even longer, resulting in faster Generator progress
2 -
This always happens after the nerf as it happened with both DS and BT after their changes as well.
Circle of Healing's play rate will most likely return to normal within a week or two once people realize the nerf did nothing, and its still the strongest healing perk in the game.
Just like it did for both DS and BT before it.
Its actually a psychological quirk of nerfs is it makes people feel weaker then normal while using something even if its not changed.
Using league as an example champion nerfs in the patch notes negatively effect win rates...Even if those nerfs never happened for one reason or another.
2 -
Eh, Against Freddy it's Easy.
Same with legion, but mending every 3 seconds really isn't fun.
1 -
I get up to 3 in a match. I don't call that "dead".
3 -
Now COH is Self-care tier maybe a little bit better. We all remember Self-care meta when instead of doing gens self-care survivors just constantly healed themselves sabotaging main objective. You waste a lot of time for something that killer takes away in a second.
Another overnerfed survivor perk that goes straight to the graveyard of survivors perks to accompany Lucky break and Boil over
3 -
CoH is still faster and more efficient than Self-Care, it's the best healing Perk Survivors have
6 -
X and Y are boring, turns around and runs 4 meta perks. ngl this got me pretty good.
2 -
Same thing happened when DS was nerfed. A bunch of survivor only streamers convinced their fans that if they didn't run it, that would somehow make BHVR revert the changes. The "perk boycott" or whatever you'd like to term it lasted about a week.
2 -
I dunno, i still find coh pretty often in my games.
0 -
It's just like when DS was nerfed.
Everyone said it was dead and freaked out when they saw it got nerfed. Everyone took it off their builds too.
Three weeks later, people realized "hey its still really really good" and it's usage went right back up
4 -
Yeah, usage is slowly going back up, it's sitting around 3.75% for now
0 -
I'm not worried.
People will get over themselves and figure out its still a great perk
4 -
I'm dreading the day people will come to their senses and start using it again
2 -
ditto.
I've seen it at least once per game for the last week.
1 -
Okay i tried to reconstruct your 8game/3times coh calculation and did you really just divide the amount of coh (3) you saw by the maximum number of survivor perks in those 8 games (8*16=128)?
Because with that i come up with 3/128=0,0234 => 2,3%
If that the case, damn is that a misleading and wrong statement that the perk is used only 2.3% of the time.
First of all you don't factor in that the perk can only be picked once per survivor, so the max amount of coh per trial is not 16 but 4.
So the correct value would be roughly 9,4% of all survivor in your games use the perk.
3/(4*8)=0,0938
And to make matters in this argument even more irrelevant, you only need this perk once in a trial as it works for the whole group even when only one survivor has it. It's not like dead hard or DS were everyone brings it for themselves and only can value for themselves.
Final point, you had (without the two edits) coh in 3 of 8 trial which means in 37,8% of your games for that test group.
2 -
Good to know I'm bad at math
1 -
I've had a few matches without it. I mind COH less if it isn't every match.
0 -
Idk why people are giving it up, its still 4 seconds off a regular heal and 8 off the selfcare. Literally getting 2 self cares off from one boon gives it value. But I guess it's welcome by me so I can actually try and play twins now.
3 -
Lets be honest, CoH is still the same, speed barelly matters as long as survivor have a safe place to go to self heal for free.
0 -
Even if I lose I'm still enjoying legion's mixtapes.
2 -
You also need to add in:
- Travel time to the Boon site: about 10 seconds each way if it's not near a generator. So the survivor has to run 10 seconds to where the Boon is, spend 21 seconds healing, then spends another 10 seconds running back to a generator. Self-Care has no inherent travel time if the survivor isn't in a chase, they just need to crouch around an obstacle and use it (if a Self-Care survivor needs to move it's probably only a few seconds.)
- You can't assume that the CoH boon is only placed once. It's pretty common for a killer to snuff it at least once during a match, if only because over the course of the chases the killer will probably spot it and snuff it at some point. So the actual average time spent placing the Boon is probably closer to something like 25%*14 (chance of it being placed and never snuffed) + 50% * 28 (chance of it being snuffed once and two placements) + 25% * 42 (two snuffs) = 28 seconds.
- Finally it's also worth noting that if the Boon holder is eliminated the Boon goes away permanently. It only happens in maybe 1/8 of matches that the Boon placer dies first but when it does happen if nobody else on the team has one and has no other healing it's probably not great for them. (Although frankly once it's a 3v1 match it's probably not great no matter what, the killer's momentum builds up tremendously at that point.)
