Since the new MMR system, the game is unplayable for beginners

Since the new MMR system, the game is unplayable for beginners. You only get good or trolling survivors or killers that don't even let you live for 2 minutes. Do you want to get rid of your new players right away or why was the rule chosen that way? It doesn't matter what time you play. You just get completely destroyed as a beginner. I've had over 750 hours since I picked up the game in November because I enjoyed it but now I don't know if I'll keep doing this to myself... Please fix this problem ASAP and make the old MMR active again. I don't care if I have to wait 3 minutes longer. The main thing is that the game is FUN again

New players being matched against skilled players isn't necessarily because the MMR is wrong, it could very well be because there are far fewer new players than older players at this point in the game's lifecycle. The old emblem matchmaking system would be running into exactly the same thing.

That said there has been an issue the dev acknowledged where brand new killer accounts started out at an average MMR and then had to lose to get down to a lower rating where they belonged. That was a little while ago though so I'm guessing they've already lowered the starting MMR on brand new accounts at this point and if you see a mismatch nowadays it's probably due to not having enough equally new players to match against without extended waits.

This is just not reflecting reality. My younger brother started playing 2 weeks ago, he is almost gold ranked now and is still playing against baby killers and survivors across the board. The fun part is when I que with him for some reason it puts me at his rank, not mine, so i can actually show him things without having to be sweaty.

But was does that tell us?

There are to few new players. This should be concerning.

The system needs a lot more of fine tuning. And if it doesn´t work in the end the system is just not good. In that case the would have to admit this and work on a new system.

Mostly that tells me the game is six years old? 🤷‍♂️

    :-) Duh...

It seems a bit like old players who got attached earlier are still playing and are very good.

But fewer players start now and continue playing because it can be very hard and ultra grindy.

Maybe the old playerbase is big enough in the long run but they should really try to also make new players to stay longer.
