The report system is pretty much useless

The report system right now is just a joke.

We need to make an ingame report. (But thats not an actualy report, its just for making a stamp)

Then you need to have proof, you need to know the map, give every little information you have and need of your account, match, names and then you even need to descripe.

If its a hacker without proof, nah not valid.

If you forgot to report ingame? Well to bad.

If you accidently already out of match and still need some infos? Well not possible to recover.

Either the report system ingame should do actually something or it atleast should create an .txt to add to your report online so you dont need to do all things themself.

Why is this system so complicated? I feel this way, hackers, cheaters, abusers or toxic ones never get their ban.

I guess they want us to use the website to filter out sore loosers calling everyone a cheater. I've been called a cheater plenty of times out of 800h (even 1 time today), and I've seen 1 very obvious cheater out of all my games (I play around 50/50 survivor/killer.

Is it a good reason? I don't think so. But since that makes them less work to filter, I guess they're happy with it?

I never even submitted videos cause they always were "too big", and those hackers still got banned after some time. So it does something.

yes, only low-definition pictures can be uploaded, I always uploaded my records on youtube and put the video link in the report

True. I went against a TTV a few days ago and he didn't like that I hooked him. I watched the stream afterward and he reported me for "Exploits." I mean really... all because I hooked him in the basement. Complete nonsense.

I would like them to do something with Matchmaking though. I've reported a number of Survivors in the past two weeks for literally doing nothing during matches. No gens, no healing, no unhooks, just running around the edges of the map, or leading the Killer to gens that I was working on. I'm now gaging other survivors before I even consider helping them at this point because I refuse to be the only player doing anything. Funny how everything changes when I play as Killer and everyone seems to be working together... I even started taking keys into matches simply because I'm fed up with the terrible matches.

You can't report survivors for being useless teammates 🤣

it should be trivial to pull the data from the map name box and add it to the bottom of the in game report or to have it displayed along with the survivor faces or by the power/item or something.

They could without all that much effort make it a lot easier and don't.

They could have a match timer going in the background and automate cheat detection to a degree. a person gets hooked once and dies on hook in an instant them boom red flag. People covering a distance impossibly fast then boom red flag. choose ghostface and someone gets hit with a hatchet then boom red flag. You're downed and back up in a single second without a lucky use of adrenaline then boom red flag. You get hit 6 times in a chase and spend a total of 6 seconds healing without going down then boom red flag.

Now I'm not saying you just ban or look into each flag but those flag combined with in game reports could make the process less awful.

If a video(s) are too large to upload directly to the Support Ticket, You can upload them to video hosts such as Youtube (mark them as unlisted), and link them in the Ticket in the area where you can supply additional information.

I will note some things a Support Ticket and video evidence are optional, only the in-game report is required (as noted here: https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/kb/articles/139-game-rules ). I do understand the frustrations voiced by many with the report system and things such as recording video of a match for evidence, I know I and many would love if built-in replays for times one is unable or forgets to record a match.

With that being said, it is not useless. People are punished, including banned, for being reported and found to be in proven violation of the Game Rules.

I went ahead and moved this to Feedback and Suggestions, for better visibility regarding your ideas for the report system.

Would it be so hard to store a file with

_ the parameters of the map,

_ the players and their setup

    and then, for each tick

_ the positions and actions of each actor in the match

_the progress and state of each generator

    _the egc start

It could be kept in memory before being stored to disk at the end of the match, or directly stored, encrypted.

That way a report would be easier and checking for cheats would be easier.

It would probably need to be stored server side too, to avoid cases of tampering.
