NoWayOut should NOT activate when the last survivor gets the hatch closed.

I don't think either of them gives a guaranteed win, and think both of them are ok as they are, so I don't really see where you're coming from.
3 -
You don't think the exit being blocked for half of the endgame timer and giving you a notification of where the only remaining survivor is located is a guaranteed win? What more do you need?
1 -
You still have a key. You still have time to open the exit gate after it's blocked and if you really want to open the exit gate you have wake up too.
The situation you are talking about is suppose to be difficult to escape from. It's not impossible, but it's certainly not in your favor.
4 -
IF you have a key, then yes since that's exactly what they're designed for. You can't bring a key every match though.
You only have 60s to open the exit IF you touch it right away, and you need 20s to actually open it and 1-2 seconds to run out. Add to that the fact the killer will be notified when you touch it and will probably beeline it to you with no distractions and you most likely won't even get to try to open the exit. Unless the killer's very new, they basically have to try to lose at that point.
And no one uses Wake Up come on now.
1 -
The killer is running a perk to slowdown opening the exit gates. Survivors have perk options to speed up opening the exit gates.
Just because Wake Up isn't meta doesn't mean the perk isn't there for this kind of situation.
It's impossible to bring to tools to every match to deal with every situation, you just have to decide what is more important to you.
5 -
I never said you couldn't do that, but that most won't.
You're also ignoring a couple things:
-No Way Out does NOT slow down opening the exits; it delays the interaction.
-It lets the killer know you're there so they'll more than likely find you. Unless you can shake them, you won't be able to open the exit at all making Wake Up moot.
1 -
No Way Out triggers when someone is about to open an exit gate. Blocking it for a full minute at that point is the same as delaying it for a minute. The difference this isn't a huge deal outside of EGC which either requires a killer to close the hatch or open an exit gate.
1 -
Just bring a key into the game.
3 -
Don't end up in that situation and you won't have that problem. 3 people dying before all gens are done means you and your team played badly and/or the killer played excellently.
5 -
You guys should be happy that theres even the pity hatch (50% win chance after loosing the match) for you after you and your team did a horrible job and wasted all of your advantages too fast. The exit gates shouldnt even be powered if you didnt do all the gens thats a 3rd chance to get out after you have missed 2 chances in a row now with the pity hatch gamble and you really gonna complain that this 3rd chance isnt in a balanced favor for you because the killer brought a perk that was inactive the whole match and which you can still play around. This sounds more like a mindset issue then a perk problem.
4 -
Yes, it should.
2 -
What's the problem with that though? Not only did your team die but you failed to get your first second-chance. If you were the killer in that situation would you think the survivor deserved the gate?
0 -
Yes,even if all of the other 3 survivors fail and die at the end,the last guy should just get a free escape because yes lol,if your entire team already got killed, them you don't really need, neither deserve that hatch.
0 -
Yep,DBD is the only game where going for 100% of The objective is seen as bad and "boring"
2 -
Well small game shouldn't get stacks for cleansing rekindled totems...
Just another mishap in behaviour's programming
1 -
If no way out shouldn't activate if the hatch is closed, then adrenalin should not activate if the hatch is closed.
1 -
Actually it was intended to prevent survivors from hiding for a long time and keeping the game hostage.
4 -
I hope they take away the killer ability to stand on the hatch.
Really unfair that they can ROB me of my EARNED escape by standing still.
Maybe they will work on the dreaded No Way Out issue after removing this UNCOUNTERABLE!!!! strategy.
1 -
How about we remove ds? It robs me out of most of my kills.
5 -
Then maybe don't tunnel.
0 -
Cant this response apply too to your statement about NWO? "Then don't get 3k'd"
2 -
You might not know it but this perk is called "NO WAY OUT"
8^D
Do you see what I did there? haha
The Killer buried you and your team just get over yourself waaaa

There's a lot of 'Nay' in the comments, but I have an alternate suggestion:
Make the perk stronger against a 4 man escape, and weaker against a solo escape.
You need No Way Out to come in clutch a LOT more than when you need it against 1 survivor.
So tell you what, let's have a shorter No Way Out in a 1v1 scenario if it lasts longer provided the killer plays most generously in the match:
~
Description: “You let only a lucky few in, but you’re not about to let any of them out.”
For each hook state a survivor has suffered, gain a token.
If a survivor dies, lose 3 tokens. (netting 0 for that survivor)
When a survivor interacts with the exit gates, there is a loud noise notification and both exits are blocked by the Entity for 6/9/12 seconds for each token gained.
Flavor-text: “’’If you want to help me on my new song – come right this way…’ – Ji-Woon Hak”
~
This version rewards killers for having everyone ‘dead on hook’ when they finally go to open the exit gates. If everyone is dead on hook, the exit gates are blocked for 96 seconds. But deaths severely harm this effect. Focusing one or two survivors and leaving another unhooked nets poor results. If the final 3 survivors have only 3 hook states between them, it gives only a 36 second activation time. If the final living survivor does not have any hook states, this perk does not find value. It’s much higher risk and much higher reward that spins the potential back to the Killer’s side in those circumstances where they play exceedingly fair. The reward for playing well and not focusing one survivor over another is paramount, while focusing down and tunneling survivors almost guarantees little to no value from this perk. Even with 2 survivors dead on hook - the perk only lasts 40 seconds in order to give them a chance to escape. However, getting 8 hooks evenly distributed between all survivors before they attempt to open a gate grants 96 seconds, but if the last survivor is dead on hook after hatch is closed, the most they must contend with is 24 seconds.

It sounds like you were a victim of my No Way Out bm, lmao. 'I can't escape after my main form of escape was closed!'

devils advocate-hatch isnt a free escape in most games.if you kill everyone, minus one person, they hid well enough to find the hatch, thats not really free
1 -
I mean its more of rng dependant, because you can be an incredibly good survivor and the hatch spawns in front of the killer so they clise it, and the contrary can happen too so id say its almost always rng.

I still CANNOT believe that they let VILE KILLERS stand on the HATCH, denying ME from my EARNED escape.
4 -
This assumes no one deliberately uses Decisive Strike to trick the killer into getting stunned.
But also, try to keep notice of what the last person you've unhooked could have been doing based on what else is going on. If you hooked someone, and they got unhooked and they are suddenly in your face again without healing anyone else or seeing them on a generator, or they jump into a locker right in front of you for no reason just ignore them/leave them on the ground.

I'd assume since @LazyClown specifically said 'robs me out of most of my kills,' that they're talking about End Game DS on the way towards / out of the Gates.

Topic roughly translates to "I wanted to escape waaah" That's all.
3 -
You are a killer main. Stop it
1 -
Lets have this version. That way escaping as the last survivor with no way out isn't impossible.
2 -
Getting 3ked is different because it can happen from your teams mistakes. If you get hit with DS that is YOUR FAULT because you either committed to them forcing it or you tunneled.
0 -
And you are clearly a survivor main who refuses to see anything from the killer pov. Stop it.
2 -
Imagine going for a solo escape in 2022.
0 -
No I just play DBD. Stop trying to justify a bad idea with partisan BS.
Play both sides.
4 -
Great joke, but you keep forgetting to put in the /s at the end! 🤣
0 -
Arent survivors a team, if a team was innefective and gave the killer kills I genuinly see no justification tor the killer to lose points in giving away a free escape, specially if he 3ked them while only using 3 perks since he had NWO.
1 -
Survivors being good sports
hahaha good one!
3 -
The hatch was designed so that the game wasn't being held hostage by a survivor who can't/won't do gates. The hatch was designed to stop 1 hour games. It wasn't a pity escape.
1 -
I have a better way to fix this, just remove hatch and kill the last survivor immediately.
Now game is lot healthier, faster and fun for everyone.
5 -
if the killer brings something to counter the alternative mechanic then you should have brought something to counter the counter (key)
1 -
No way, the killer earned their 4k. It’s already ridiculous that survivors get a third chance after the killer finds hatch first.
3 -
Yeah, I agree. Since they nerfed keys and nerfed the hatch if the killer closes the hatch and you're the last survivor left there's basically no point in trying to get a gate open, especially with no way out.
If they're not going to nerf no way out they should just make it so if the killer closes the hatch and you're the last survivor left then you just die right when the hatch gets closed. Then killers are happy because they get their easy 4k and you don't have to deal with any bs waste of time and can move on to the next match.
1 -
Yeah, hatches are generally just bs waste of time and better be removed.
0 -
I would love to have the same when the gate get powered and all 4 survivor are still alive because as a killer that aimed for the 8/12 hooks it is most often the case that all 4 are alive and still have their 5 second chances protecting then from getting killed or rather hook camped. (BT, DS, UB, DH and other survivor bodyblocking)
So they could just end the game after the 5th gen pops and not waste the additional 3 minutes of egc where survivor just stand in the exit and wait for an audience to see them leave.
4 -
This guy wants to camp the door, wait for the killer to close the hatch and then immediately open the gate to get out (with bad RNG, most of the time the killer doesn‘t have enough time to reach the door). Without NWO, this is uncounterable and extremely cheap.
The killer didn‘t rob you of anything, you chose to give up the hatch in the first place. At high MMR, the killer without NWO will go as far as staying on the hatch, not closing it because he/she knows the last survivor is next to the door and will have time to open it if the hatch is closed. So in reality, NWO is very healthy for the game because it prevents this situation.

I take your no way out not activating and you give me lets say borrowed time body blocking. sounds like a fair deal to me.

Deal

Something called a strategy my guy.
No point in risking being seen by the killer.
