I just had an idea for a Hangman's trick buff!
So, in addition to the perk's existing effects, Hooks take 30/40/50% longer to sabo and you can see the auras of survivors who've sabotaged a hook for as long as the hook is broken. (excluding Breakdown, since that's not sabotage and 3 minutes of perfect aura reading would be op)

That’s a great change. The perk should literally be a Anti Sabo perk. I disagree on the aura reading. 1 minute of infinite aura reading? That’s to much it should just be when they sabotage a hook there aura is revealed for 4/5/6 seconds

Hooks are only broken for 30 seconds now, or 45 if they have the addon I think 30-45 seconds is fine for single person aura reading on something they aren't guaranteed to do

As long as it's an anti-sabo perk it will always be useless. You can't tell if people are going to sabo ahead of time and it's not worth running for that chance. An anti-sabo component can be fine, but not its main purpose. Just bring the PTB version back.

If memory serves, it was aura reading of anyone within 16 meters of a hook as long as you were carrying someone.

They should add the original effect of the perk on top of the aura reading.

It was actually pretty nice. It worked as another BBQ replacement essentially.

Yeah.
I was thinking that the extra range wouldn't help because it rarely does anything, but then I realized that the extra range is better because it'd activate much more.

They really have a few choices:
1.) Make it the resident anti-sabotage hook
Pro: It means sabo squads are a thing of the past! | Cons: Sabo is rarely a concern, turning this into a niche of a niche pick
2.) Make it an Anti-body block perk
Pro: Much more applicable and can change interactions | Cons: Same problem as Mad Grit - once survivors see it in play, they wont waste time
3.) Make it a debuff that revolves around hooks - sabo, unhooks, protection hits, the works.
Pro: Will be viable in every match | Con: Does not specifically counter any style of play.

Hooks taking longer to break is a telegraph to its effects, and even hex retribution does not provide aura reading for that length of time. However, it being a counter method to sabotage plays could be interesting. Maybe:
While carrying a survivor, the Aura of all other Survivors in 16/20/24 meters are revealed.
When a Hook is broken, it is repaired 15 seconds sooner.
Hopefully this fits somewhere as an anti-sabo while also being useful to find survivors close to you who might be trying to make plays.
