Flashlights Needs a Rework or a Hard Nerf

I know this may sound really goofy and weird and whatnot. But I just face a very toxic SWF that was flashlight spamming me and abusing pallets and what not. Well anyway my point is someone who is epileptic should not deal with that. I mean not I’m not epileptic. But I only say that cause I have a younger sister who does and me and family do what we can protect her from issues like that. I know people have addressed this issue but flashlight spamming needs to be seriously looked at cause this is too much. Also they can hurt people’s eyes as well.

I somehow managed to flashlight stun an Onryo while she was in the middle of carrying another team mate. It wasn't even a traditional flashlight save, she just let it happen then promptly DC'd.

    I felt like a monster.

I think this is only kinda related to your topic but I needed to get if off my chest.

That idea sounds really good and yeah I agree a limit would be really nice.

Oh I’m sorry to hear that and you’re not a monster, anyone who plays the game like that isn’t all bad. We play how we want to play. I mean all I ask is we just be nice to each other but I doubt that never happen. But anyway thank you for sharing and also I get it, sometimes we need to get things off our chest too. I should know lol.

agreed with the spamming you dont need that to get saves etc but the only thing is part of a flashlight save includes re clicking sometimes and also chain blinding is important after a save so there's that but yea im even annoyed by the brrrrrrrrr of a flashlight I love watching them die after that and im a survivor only player (not main only).

They don't need "hard nerfed" there simply needs to be a delay between pressing the flashlight key, and it activating.

I have the same concerns about epilepsy, but dlashlights themselves are mechanically fine, if not underpowered.

I'd suggest you contribute to a feedback discussion about getting rid of that "feature".

    e.g.

    (Among many others I'm sure)

I wouldn't say this is a nerf. The intended feature is to blind a player, and repeated clicking isn't exactly that feature.

Photosensitivity options don't exist in this game, and there isn't even a warning unlike most other games. It needs to go.

that's what we call a moth. she should not have in any way fallen for that and she definitely shouldn't dc after since it was a missplay on her part. flashlights survivors are fun to go against ( except if they go for locker saves) and you shouldn't feel bad about using one lol.

Simply make the actual light effects less noticable or even have a toggle to remove them entirely (photosensitivity accessibility option). I'd imagine the "smoother" change in brightness during an actual flashlight blind is fine as it isn't rapidly flashing lights.

Absolutely zero need to actually nerf flashlights, just attack the actual issue head on. While I don't think the clicking sound is a potential hazard I wouldn't mind if there was a way to mute that either, just make it a toggle as personally I really appreciate it when a survivor I'm not even chasing is kind enough to say "Hey, just letting you know I'm NOT on a gen mister killer!" 😄

I hate Toxic SWFs if I see some bright people or neas I will equip Lightborn, Blood Warden, Spirit Fury, and Enduring because if they are toxic then they get instant karma.

I have since been informed I am incorrect and there is indeed a photosensitivity warning, at least on Steam (can't check for other platforms but I assume its there too).
