Let Killers see the hook count

Let killers see the hook count. The reasoning is so that, as killer, I want to be able to play for hooks instead of kills. This allows me to stop myself from killing a survivor, before getting a certain number of hooks.

I know that killers not being able to see the hook is to prevent tunneling. However, as a killer, if you are planning to tunnel, a hook count doesn't matter. As a killer, you pick your target and just tunnel them out. Being able to see the survivor hook count will not affect that.

Yeah, I have killed lot of survivors by accident, because of this. Mainly if I was playing hit and run, or lot of slugging.

Same characters / skins are also not helping with this.

I really don’t see a reason not to implement it. It’s not like it’ll make killers tunnel more. If they want someone out of their game, they’re gonna know who they’re going for.

While I agree partially, I do think this will indeed just make tunneling easier. Probably won't change for a lot of people, but for newer players, it could make it a bit easier, and even that I feel is not that good.

If they ever finally nerf tunneling and camping enough, then I would fully agree.

I would love this change, tunneling won't be affected at all in 99% of the games anyway. But when I play killer, sometimes I just want to farm to do challenges, and then accidentally killing someone feels real bad... (survivor main here btw)

I think it's easier to remember "second meg from the top, black hoodie" if you want to tunnel out a survivor, it is much harder to remember who has one hook and who has 3 when you're at 8 hooks. It's much easier to tunnel without a hook counter than it is to 12 hook without a hook counter. I hope a hook counter is added.

I 100% agree with this, tunnelling already happens frequently in-game already, so killers seeing hook totals will not change that.

I have only just been told where to see total hooks on the hud lol I was looking for a "number" this whole time and not a graphic next to the number of gens.

They should definitely add this, too many times I let survivors go because I can't tell if I hooked them already because I am so dumb when it comes to memory and I feel guilty if I tunnel even accidentally. Only times when I do tunnel are when they are like repairing in my face lol.

Due to MMR I really don't like killing survivors. It almost always makes the next match completely unfun. I try my best to not kill survivors but it's hard sometimes to tell whether someone is on their last hook, especially if they are all playing the same survivor.

I 100% agree and have said this since the new overlay. When they said it was "to prevent tunneling" i audibly laughed and thought how out of touch are they? How do you come to that conclusion if you know how this game works? I seriously want to know the thought process because it blows my mind that the devs said that.
