Sadako is a sad killer
I'm really trying my best to enjoy her, but man... it's just sad seeing a horror icon like her get treated like this.
She's pretty fun to play and definitely my favorite stealth killer atm but it's so hard to play her when every survivor wants to pre-drop pallets, use DH, heal at the speed of light, etc.
I know she's not the only victim of the Hit & Run gang being hurt, but Sadako should FEEL threatening to go against. Her condemned mechanic is sad and does not feel impactful in the matches. Can survivors at least gain 1 stack whenever a gen is completed considering how easy it is to remove condemned stacks? Anything to make survivors actually consider her as a threat.
Please improve her.

She needs major buffs, which i hope for next mid-chapter. She is my 3rd fav killer after Nemmy and Nurse. I do wanna play her more.

To improve her would be easy by making when a surv is affected by condemnd status each 15 secs get a tic instead of 25 also when sadako go out of a tv the survivor get condemned and getting condemn stacks overtime.
I would add too some debuffs when certain stack of condemn reached.
1 stack no effect
3 stack get blinded
5 stack oblivious
7 stacks killer instinct, exposed permanently and moriable.

She is already stealth killer, oblivious is looks unnecessary

Would it be too strong if Condemned was a passive that built itself up over time? It could guarantee an insta kill yes but are we wrong to assume that any survivor in a trial against Sadako should be there because they saw the tape and they're meant to die?
Then the game turns into: EScape before i can insta-die, which just makes people gen rush harder but if you're that desperate for quickness you're also more susceptible to making more mistakes cause the time pressure is there for survivors.

I wouldn't call her stealth killer. Her stealth is the worst out of all stealth power killers. Even Pig who has slow movement speed has better stealth than her. It's more like "semi-bad-stealth".
She is weak and now overshadowed by Dredge. They both have main power to teleport but he has way better one, not in Survivors control. Plus he has unique passive power.

My question would be, why should the tapes remove condemned if the rate of condemned gain is basicaly nonexistant in the first place?

Kinda funny making a supposed stealth killer with a very noticeable, directional audio cue. I would like it if they reduced the radius or change it to non-directional. Same with the T.Vs. It's not really consistent with other stealth killers.

Here's the thing her stealth is a semi active stealth which can be good but you also have a "lullaby" that survivors hear before they see you which hinders her stealth. Condemn is a good idea but too easy to remove and hard to build up. I had a few games where survivors purposely let their condemn build up to instant death levels only to get into a chase and put their tape in right in front of me roving half the stack. It's like tapping a Gen all over again.

I'd still classify her as a stealth killer. If she's able to gain the undetectable status effect at her own will then that's a stealth ability.
Even stated by the wiki "is able to silently and invisibly traverse the realm".
I'd say her stealth is decent to very high. Sure, there's a lullaby, but she is capable of landing very easy first hits.
If the condemned built up at a fair rate for both sides then I could see it happening or make it go at a slightly faster rate, but the passive won't build up for the last stack and Sadako would have to work for the last stack.
Honestly, I dig it.
I guess for counterplay and to shine more light on her lore. Condemned needs to feel more impactful.

They probably could stand to lose her Lullaby if they want to buff her stealth. I'm not even sure why she has it, she's the only stealth killer that has one.

I've been running Brutal Strength + Endurance lately because loops & DH screw her up pretty hard.

The oblvious TV's are actually criminally underrated. They mean you don't have to slow yourself down with manifesting when approaching a gen.

I second that. Also she is terribly perk dependant as she has zero antiloop and totally in a grace of player and survivors without them.
I maining her since release and she is ultra fun to play, and I think that she could be saved. I'll copy my suggestions here:
Double-triple curse rate / double TVs number / drastically remove TV cooldown / curse on hit / Iri videotape into basekit / remove manifest speed penalty / ignore pallets while demanifested / make lullaby whole map wide or remove it at all.
Even one of these would help a lot. Two would be a bliss.

Interesting, I'll give it a test run.
I ended up on Bambozle (she really suffer without this), MYC, BBQ/Tinkerer and Surge/Pop.
Second of my favorite killers that I sacrificed Corrupt Intervention (first is Artist, she doesn't need it). Sadako is heavily perk dependant, they mostly carry her, so I don't feel right to use one time perk. I'd better lose one gen, but will be equipped for the rest of the game. But that's my playstyle.
Yeah, she need a buff hard. We'll hope for the best, Plague got her buff after all...

Sadako is most fun thing to happen to DBD since the original Spirit. She brought me back to the game after basically 2 years hiatus and Ive been having great fun these last couple evenings since I finally caved in and bought her (I was really reluctant to waste any real money on this game).
I honestly fear she will be nerfed, because thats what devs do. Nerf killers all the time. No balance, just catering to survivors. Hopefully Ill get maybe half a year of fun out of it before it happens.
ps. Im not gonna be giving any hints on how I do things since it will just speed up the process.

I wouldn't be too hopeful, seeing as how many changes there will already be in the next update, if we get the huge perk update in the next mid-chapter. But it sure would be nice.
