Survivors pulling killers info mid match

So I had a game where I was playing Dredge yesterday and unfortunately the survivors I was playing with must have not liked how the game was being played.

One of the survivors said in chat my steam username. Not my publicly available name but the username I login with. My steam username is also the same as the burner email I use for steam so I really don't know if they somehow got my steam user or if they got my email.

Not really concerned over it, given how it's just a username. I'm more curious as to HOW a survivor can pull this kind of information from the killer in DBD. I understand how a survivor can grab a killer's IP but not a username associated with my steam account.
