Critique of Botany Knowledge upcoming buff -- Comparison to Desperate Measures
First I wanna say that I adore almost all of the new changes. Really, this is just one minor issue I have with the updated perks.
New Botany Knowledge will give a 50% healing speed bonus (at tier 3). Meanwhile, Desperate Measures gives a 56% healing speed bonus, assuming that everyone in the trial is injured. If only three people are injured, the bonus goes down to 42%, which is notably less than Botany Knowledge's bonus.
It is INCREDIBLY rare to have all 4 survivors injured in one match-- I would know, because I frequently run Desperate Measures. Usually the number of injured survivors caps out at 3, and only stays that way momentarily. Also considering that when one survivor dies, Desperate Measures cannot possibly get the 4th stack and provides an objectively worse healing bonus in all scenarios. The extra conditions for the potential 6% healing bonus is just not worth it in any scenario.
The only thing then that may make Desperate Measures a side-grade to Botany Knowledge would be the buff to unhooking speeds. However, with how much this new update addresses the issue of camping (THANK YOU), unhooking slightly faster loses a lot of its value. Unhooking survivors quicker only really mattered if the killer was nearby or approaching the hook, and even then it made a very minor difference. Now, it will make even less of a difference, and will not really provide players a reason to use this perk instead of botany knowledge.
Again, I want to reiterate that a lot of the changes you proposed are astounding. I just wanna critique where I see some minor pitfalls. I'm very excited to see how this game changes!

I don’t know why they felt the need to make botany better. It was a solid perk but it felt fair. There are multiple perks that I think potentially got overbuffed or didn’t need a buff at all and this is one of them. Meanwhile we still have plenty of actual trash tier perks such as overwhelming presence.

Desperate measures lets you unhook faster as well though, which imo makes them equal in terms of strength

But the unhooking is already kinda fast. Desperate measures requires more injured survs to work better. I'd definitely run botany at this moment, probably just like 80% of the community at least. It might be a cool counter to save the best for last but it's very situational.

Medkits have been an issue in this game for a long time and then came the Boon broken circle of heals...now you want to make this stronger with botany? Not sure why you want to do this when you already noticed that killers have been struggling and part of it has been caused by this boon which now botany makes stronger? Also off the record.. how do you want killers to kill survivors in end game when they have 80 seconds of protection?
You know its going to be impossible against good teams.

I haven't mentioned any of those other things... Just pointing out that the decision to buff Botany Knowledge is strange considering that it now basically trumps Desperate Measures. I feel that if they want to stay consistent in their design decisions, they should buff DM as well to compensate.

I address this point in my original point haha, but I'll repeat. The unhooking bonus is not very significant, especially following the upcoming changes which somewhat discourage camping. Unhooking already took so little time that an increase to unhooking speeds only really mattered if the killer was camping the hook with Save The Best For Last.

They should at least give Desperate Measures to include dead/disconnected survivors. Along with a buff to 15% per injured, dying, and removed survivors to healing and unhooking. Gain 50% additional Bloodpoints for the Survival and Altruistic categories for every survivor removed from the Trial.
