Endurance problem and future problems coming from patch

Since all the next patch seems to be going around endurance and endurance after being unhooked, i'm feeling very worried of where this will lead. Devs doesn't seem to understand that the prior use of endurance after being unhooked (or any kind of endurance) is (Ab)used to bodyblock for the unhooker and the rest of his team and for me this is not particularly fair nor logic.

Usually when this happens, what i generally do is slug the unhooked with the consequence of waiting the 60 seconds ds and then hook the guy again. I personally dislike this method but atm i feel like punishing the ones who (Ab)use this mechanic.

After being unhooked your MAIN goal should be to get somewhere safe, clearly not to protect the others. So my personal suggestion is to negate the endurance effect if it's causing a protection hit. This will cause no harm to the unhooked person while instead will punish unsafe unhooks and will allow the killer to keep the pressure if needed.

Also soulguard on we are gonna live forever into others? that's mad dudes. Seeing how you nerfed to the ground bbq and gave nothing in exchange, i would just give no extra effect to the perk full stop.

DS got nerfed from 5 seconds to 3. That, and the fact that Endurance doesn't stack (you can't tank two extra hits by having both BT and OTR) means the way to punish BT bodyblockers (tunnel them) is easier than it is currently.

Don't forget lowered hit cooldowns and speed boosts either.

I'm personally not worried. Worst case, we get Legion meta as stabbing an injured survivor with endurance in feral frenzy eats the endurance.

Also, protection hit coding has a hard time telling what your intent is, as any Forced Penance user will know. If you injure the unhooker, then hit the BT of the unhooked survivor, that almost always triggers FP. By your suggestion, endurance would never work when the unhooking survivor is injured. (If that's your intent, congratulations, you've reached pre-BT era camping)

I'd rather unhooked survivors have no collision with the killer for 3-5 seconds if anything. Would also prevent some basement bodyblocks to the benefit of survivors.

That'd be a cool idea. Only issue is the fact you can also easily take a protection hit even if you don't mean to.

Killer can just line themselves up and get it easily. That issue would need to be looked at.

It's also only a protection hit if the person you block for is injured, so this solution is... certainly limited. People will happily block for a healthy survivor - abusing this status is just second nature at this point.

Endurance is a problem because, despite BHVR's opinion on how players use endurance, they rarely actually use endurance to get away. They literally use it to MAINTAIN a presence for flashlight saves or bodyblocking.

Prime example from a match a few minutes ago:

What's worst is when you'll have all 4 survivors running the new Off The Record while all wearing the same survivor skin. It'll be just a chaotic mess of guesswork of who you can and cannot hit. Even without skin abuse, a lot happens in 80 seconds. You could easily break away from an encounter and run across another survivor. Who knows if they've done a conspicious action in the last 80 seconds. It turns the game into random guessing if someone is even able to take damage. You can spend precious time chasing down someone through loops only to find out, ha jokes on you, they are immune.

I dont get it, how would they be immuje from off the record? All it does is now show your aura and not cause any pain grunts, rather useless imo

They are changing it in an upcoming patch. It will now give you 80 seconds of endurance after you get unhooked. Doing something productive like doing a gen or healing another survivor cancels it early. Problem is, they can just have 2 or 3 people entirely be dedicated to bodyblocking or wasting your time doing chases where you can't damage them anyway.

Agreed - the developers need to understand from a simple look at styptic and BT that Endurance = boldness, not necessarily safety in fleeing the killer. Giving players the ability to take a free hit will not encourage them to flee, but to attempt to force a confrontation to extract value from their temporary invulnerability.

That being said, I think Endurance should be kept as is - without the ability to go down for taking a protection hit... especially because all that need be is that an injured survivor is nearby to nullify the safety provided. Perhaps there should be a new status effect 'Resolution' or something like that - something that will not satisfy a protection hit or anything aggressive in behavior.
