Hillbilly buffs to make him great again (+ new ability?)
Chainsaw changes:
- Time to charge the Chainsaw: 2.5 sec ---> 2.2 sec
- Bumping into objects penalty: 3 sec ---> 2.5 sec
- Sprinting: 9.2 m/s ---> 11 m/s
- Speed while Charging: 3.68 m/s ---> 3.75 m/s
- Turn rate: 32°/s ---> 38°/s
- Hillbilly no longer roars while starting to sprint with his chainsaw.
Overheat changes:
- Starting adds: 5 Charges ---> 4 Charges
- Revving adds: 8 c/s ---> 5 c/s
- Sprinting adds: 2 c/s ---> 1 c/s
- Heat Dissipation rate: -3.5 c/s ---> -4 c/s
- After hitting the limit: -6.6 c/s ---> -8 c/s
These changes would make his chainsaw more of a threat and also allowing him to use it more aggresively without being punished too hard. It will also make him more fun to play as since everything will feel better and bit faster. These changes will make it easier for him to curve around loops thanks to better turn rate during sprinting and bit faster sprinting.
New ability: Rathless Rage
Everytime you down a Survivor or you destroy a pallet or breakable wall with your chainsaw, you gain points. After having enough points for the threshold, you can press Action button while charing your chainsaw to activate Rathless Rage.
- Treshold: 12 Points
- Points for downing a Survivor with your chainsaw: +5 Points
- Points for breaking a pallet: +2 Points
- Points for breaking a breakeble wall: +1 Point
When Rathless Rage is ready and activated while using your chainsaw, Hillbilly gains following effects:
- Hillbilly will roar (as now in the live game) and after 1 second delay, Hillbilly will instantly start sprinting at 18 m/s and downing anyone within his path. If you down someone, the chainsaw attack will stop. If you bump into object, the chainsaw will stop but the bumbping penalty is only 1.5 seconds.
This new ability could add some more depth to his kit and danger for the Survivors. He can use this as a once a while insta-saw where you can more faster instadown a Survivor (it would take minimum of 1 second to down someone in front of you) or you could use it for super fast mobility or some insane curve.
Please tell me your feedback and thanks for reading!

I don’t think the whole new Rage ability is necessary, it actually probably just overly complicates him when he’s already kind of difficult to get chainsaw hits with.
I do agree with removing his dumb roar when he starts the chainsaw sprint and with slightly improving his maneuverability. I don’t think he needs a big buff in that area, though, because he’s already pretty decent IF you are extremely good at using him. It’s just that right now he feels so cumbersome to the point of being annoying to play if you aren’t a true Billy main. So a minor tweak to make him more user friendly is good, but not so much that he becomes truly dominating in the hands of mains.

All he needs is to bring his flicks back.

imo what hillbilly needs is not another ability. He should just be "Chainsaw insta down, chainsaw go fast, chainsaw vroom", no real need to give more passive abilities.
What I would change:
- rework his overheat to only increase when missing or revving the chainsaw so good play by survivors is rewarded by hillbilly's chainsaw getting disabled but he still has his hypermobility without getting punished
- rework/buff all his garbage add-ons (Heavy Clutch, Off-Brand Motor Oil, Big Buckle, Mother's Helpers, Leafy Mash, Black Grease, Tuned Carburettor, Pighouse Gloves)
- increase turning rates while in sprint so you are not too add-on reliant
Hilbilly is still very good BUT he is waaaaay too hard to play.
I wouldn't give him more charge rate as i am still traumatized from instant-chainsaw hillbilly.
I'd do this "small" buff before buffing all the base stats and adding another mechanic similar to Oni

I like everything but changing the charge rate, the turn rate, his speed while charging. He shouldn't be oppressive; he should be rewarding to playing well.

So you give him double engravings without any charge debuff if all you give him old thompson mix? Hillybilly needs a lot of buffs but that's completely unreasonable

Literally all Billy need to have changed is make so when overheated, rather than disabling your chainsaw entirely, it makes it so you no longer insta-down people when hitting them with your chainsaw.

If this changes would made, i think he no longer needs good addons because his basekit would really good.

Billy needs to be changed back to base kit 2016 Billy before multiple shadow nerfs - but he does not need the ability to flick back. And while we are on the topic Oni should lose flicking too.
why would you use the saw at all if it was not an instant down? You would just swing the hammer. Your post makes no sense from a balance perspective.

I remember when the "ROOOOOOAAAAAAAAR!" first came out, I was watching one of my favorite streamers. If I write what the streamer said Billy sounded like, I'd probably get banned from this forum. But yeah, absolutely terrible decision.

You would use your chainsaw for mobility, plus good billies can do some trick shots and get easier hits with his saw that you couldn't do with a simple M1. Do not be so quick to dismiss the power of the chainsaw just because it doesn't give you an insta-down. Not to mention you can still use it to break pallets and walls. It really isn't a small change, giving the player the ability to still use the chainsaw even while overheated would be big. Change some addons to do more stuff while overheated and you got yourself a whole new build tailored towards being overheated the whole time.
Heck you can make so many changes that would make being overheated actually a good thing after that change, you really do not need to buff numbers. Simply let people use the chainsaw while overheated but make it only do a normal attack, then add a few extra things to it. Things like a chainsaw attack while overheated also applies mending, making it an upgrade from just an M1. You could also make the chainsaw charge faster "while overheated the chainsaw charges 50% faster" or something like that. Possibilities are endless!
So many of you are so quick to try and "fix" billy by just making the overheat mechanic just non-existant, when in reality what you should be doing is working with the overheat mechanic and turning it into another tool at your disposal. It's much better for balance and makes it more interesting. Try and open the possibilities for more playstyles rather than say "overheat bad, all billies should just play the same way forever".
