Being forced to play a role in order to get BPs isn't better than a perk
The amount of Bloodpoints earned baseline is low. Let's be honest for a second, you don't go far with 30k, so imagine getting only 10k/15k as a survivor.
Now, to make up for it, we had 2 perks. So that we could get consistantly around 50k as killer and like 30k as survivor (what I'd consider my personal average).
Now, tying this to a perk was bad design. I 100% agree with that, I shouldn't have to play with only 3 perks and 1 mandatory BP perk to grind the game. (or give up on those and make the grind more painful).
But now, I feel actually punished for not playiong the role which has a 100% bonus BP. Wasn't the goal to feel rewarded to play the role? Now, by making the grind (especially the add-on/item grind) worse than before, I feel like I'm not gaining anything out of it.
Really, giving up one perk was bad design. But giving up the role I actually want to play is much worse.

Respectfully, I disagree. Encouraging variety in play from the playerbase is a pretty good idea, and it's definitely better than giving up an entire perk slot just for bloodpoints.
However, I do think that there should be more avenues than just that for gaining bloodpoints. That's where they should be looking in the next step of grind reduction.

I tried playing survivor for the BP bonus. I sat in a long queue before each match and didn't even get a bonus the last two times.
I tried playing killer. The queue was much quicker, but there's no queue bonus and I don't have BBQ for stacks anymore. With no motivation to hook survivors, I ended up just killing some zombies and going AFK once my Deviousness BP was maxed out.
Don't know if I'll bother even attempting to play DbD anymore today.

What I mean is that because we gain so little bloodpoints (especially as survivor), it doesn't feel like the normal BP gain when we don't have the bonus.
It feels normal when we have it at 100% and as a result, I feel punished when I don't have that bonus more than rewarded when I do.
Yes, it's terrible to have to give up on 1 perk slot. But it's even worse to give up four slots, and the character itself, and instead play a completely different role.
It could have been a good idea if I didn't feel like the grind was so slow if I didn't aim to only play games where I have +100%.
