Final feedback about how the game feels since the update

Hello, I've played a fair amount of DBD the last few days, mostly survivor because killer queues are very long and here's my final feedback about what playing felt like: Boring. I don't play to win, but to have fun, so excuse me if I don't go into detailed feedback about how sweaty, or unfair, or broken things are for this or that side.

I've tried many builds, some suggested on the forums, there was a grand total of 2 games where I had fun, and it probably had nothing to do with my build or gameplay but the players not engaging in normal gameplay (aka memeing, but I don't think I should play a game only to have fun when ppl aren't playing as they should).

The games felt more tedious as survivor, and un-winnable in many cases. I've witnessed my teammates run the killer for over 3 minutes, only for them to get a 4k anyways because as soon as there's only 2 generators left it feels almost impossible to complete them if the killer patrols them, mostly if they have slowdown perks (which, of course, they do), and that feeling is multiplied when a survivor is already dead, in which case you're basically doomed (so of course killers will make sure to kill someone before the third gen pops, to ensure a win).

All in all the killer builds are still slowdown perks on top of slowdown perks and the only chase I had fun with was against a nurse, because against everyone else it's literally just "holding W and try to last until BL kicks in" (which i guess is kind of the same against nurse, but I'm used to it ig). In conclusion as survivor it the game is particularly unfun, depending on the killer it's either a reparing or healing simulator, and by the end of it you're probably going to die anyway.

Also side note but the only game that felt "normal" (aka not over-tedious) and that I was actually really enjoying as survivor turned out to have a cheater in it, the hacking Kate obviously making the game much easier for the rest of us lol (i reported her anyways no worries).

As killer (Demogorgon to be precise) the games felt the same during their first half, but also very tedious and boring during the second half if I wasn't stomping the survivors from the get-go. To elaborate, I was experiencing the other side of the "gens feel hard to complete when there's only 2 left" problem I mentionned earlier. Turns out patrolling the gens until the survivors are worn out and die one by one is also very boring (and I don't mean 3 genning scenarios, I mean I have time to chase someone off a gen, down and hook them, and come back without having to worry about any gen popping). I didn't lose a single game as killer, even if the survivors stomped me for the better part of it. It doesn't feel right and i heavily dislike it. Also I'd like to note that SH: Pain Resonance was the only gen perk I used.

That tedious feeling and boredom probably comes from the fact that (for both roles unless I went against baby survivors as killer) the games last way longer than they used to. I've never actually counted but I'd say before the update an average game would last between 6-8 minutes for me, but since the update I genuinely don't think I've had a game that lasted less than 10 minutes, and wouldn't be surprised if some of them went over the 15 minutes mark (looking at you, Freddy who tried really hard to bring back forever freddy). It's not because there's endless action unfolding but because both sides are stalling during the second half of the game and everything feels so much slower and yea I'm not having fun at all.

I hope survivors and killers alike keep enjoying the game, see you in the fog someday probably (if a patch ever seems appealing enough)

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. I find myself becoming increasingly frustrated with each coming hour. I haven't had the opportunity to escape in over ten matches today alone. Between survivors giving up/DC'ing and the horrific new gen speed meta, my enjoyment of this game has decreased sharply, which is really unfortunate because this is quite literally the only game that I have played the last several years, and I've put a lot into it. The neglect as a solo player this time around is blatantly clear, and I have never encountered such horrible matches and un-fun gameplay.

I know I only speak for myself, and for awhile I was quite frustrated by players insisting 6.1 was going to be very problematic. However, after the last few days of my own personal experience as a solo survivor, I cannot envision a healthy future for this game at this rate. Not one match resulted in more than 3 generators being completed. I hope this is still just a... "trial" period, because holy crap I have never seen this game sink so low so quickly! :( And I am doing everything I can to enhance my level of enjoyment, sadly to very little success, as I am only one random solo player.

Yeah that's basically how I feel, I honestly don't care about my personal escape rates, but when your entire team is doing a good job it's still frustrating to see all of you die anyway, and I'm kinda sad to hear the invisible barrier between the 3rd and 4th gen isn't just a personal experience. I have no doubt (or maybe i'm delusional) that the next patch will ease things a little bit for survivors, but I'm scared it won't be enough for solo q to be enjoyable. DBD is also basically the only game i've been playing, but I bought some Resident Evil games during sales so i guess it's time to install those haha.

You are certainly not alone. I am also not one to immediately jump to conclusions and cry foul when something changes out of my favor, as I recognize the time needed to find that sweet spot and readjust. But how can we readjust if almost EVERY single match I have encountered doesn't even let you because of the way the new changes are functioning realtime? At first I was digging the changes; I changed my personal meta build and for a minute or two, it was succeeding. But as the days pass, killers have definitely seemed to learn how to win efficiently... at the horribly frustrating expense of survivors. Sometimes it's not even the killer's fault, as many survivors realize how un-fun and hopeless COUNTLESS new scenarios make this game and give up the instant there's a whiff of cheese. :(

Yeah, if the games were unfun because of how some killers play (tunnel, facecamp, slug etc) I wouldn't stop playing, sweaty games happen, but the games where everyone is playing fair and not sweating at all are just as boring, if not more because they last longer, so there's really not point for me to play until things change unfortunately.

I know I will continue to play, too, and just try to be optimistic that my experience will improve either naturally or by BHVR intervening and readjusting the changes. I am entirely curious to see the new numbers, and hope to goodness BHVR is transparent about it. They make so many decisions based on data (that I unfortunately don't think they fully understand, at times) I'm hoping it's just a matter of time before they communicate the new numbers/data.

I'll second this feeling. For me the games bounce between boring because the killer sweats their brains out at five gens and there's nothing to really do about it, or games where the killer gets like one kill but it's just so unfun and boring because everyone just sat on gens. I feel like even in games where everyone is playing fair it's extra boring because everyone is just playing so much more efficiently because now mistakes are punished so much harder and going for risky, and thus fun, plays just isn't worth it because the potential reward is just not worth the damage it can cause. Most games I escape now feel pretty hollow because it's just doing four gens against a killer that doesn't know what they're doing and then leaving. Nothing feels like it came from my skill or other survivors'. They nerfed survivor's tools and now it feels like the best way to win is to just minimize interaction and that's boring.
