The "Legacy" Reward
So currently I adore the scratch mark portraits and have them on my 10 of my survivors, but when they're just sitting there and you didn't get your other characters to that same level, it doesn't look very appealing. So I figured why not combine two ideas I saw some people suggested. If your survivor was part of the legacy, have their border on the post game leaderboard have the scratch mark background.
Then make it to were you can unlock the scratch mark portraits at prestige level 50 or 100, this can make it to where new player get the portraits that they can enjoy themselves, and the people who had the new "legacy" can have something just to show off a little bit. Also it won't look as wonky if they have their legacy people randomly spaced.
Edit: Was adding something

I like this idea. Having something unique for P3ing prior to the update is important, but the backgrounds look pretty bad if they're scattered throughout your loadout, and even if you have them on every character, they'll still look bad when future characters are unable to get them.
Not to mention this kills two crows with one pebble when it comes to the whole 'people wanted something they could show off to other players' aspect.

Exactly, and since it's not as flashy as original legacy, people won't be to upset when they see it on the leaderboard

I don't think the developers wanted to award players something that others could see but could never obtain if they did not partake prior to the release. Although I think it would be a really cool idea, I don't think they'll go through with it, sadly :(
However! I really like the idea of being able to unlock the portrait scratch marks background at a certain prestige! I agree the consistency of all portraits having it is much more aesthetically pleasing lol. But I still think they should differentiate it from the ones we actually/already unlocked prior to 6.1. Not too drastic that it looks off, but subtle enough to be like "yup ;)" lol
