I wonder, if there was a way to start a brand new account as a relatively inexperienced survivor and guarantee 35 escapes in a row before MMR rose to a point where killers could stop you, would people feel the same way?

In my experience, mindless campers are uncommon. Maybe 10% of what I verse. Even when they are Bubbas.
Tunnelers are a bit more common. Slightly more since the patch, but a lot of them are pretty bad.
The only reason they get a kill out two is I'm groups with survivors who have no clue how to handle it.
That being said, I agree the main reason you've won all these matches was because of that tactic, not because of the killer.
