Controversial: We need to allow the endurance perks to work through Deep Wound(with some conditions)
Before you call me crazy(or do, I'll still keep going), there's a point to make. Currently, perks such as Off the Record or Dead Hard that grant the endurance effect can straight up be ignored by tunnelers and certain killers.
Obviously, Tunnelers make it a point to reduce your fun by getting you out of the game as fast as possible. This has always been a problem, but it was exacerbated in this patch. Why? Apart from the Decisive Strike nerf, a bunch of perks that would allow you to extend a chase can be denied if the killer hits you the second you get off the hook, triggering your Deep Wound from the base kit Borrowed Time and canceling out some chase-extending perks.
Just as well, there are certain killers that can design builds to deny endurance perks. One that comes to mind is Pinhead with Original Pain, making people who break chains gain the deep wounded effect and denying them the perks. Then there are just some killers that have built-in anti-endurance abilities, like Legion and Deathslinger(who I'm pretty sure is the most anti-dead hard killer out there).
Considering the fact that these perks can be countered by tunnelers, by certain killer add-ons, and certain killers period, perhaps we should change how they work. By that, I mean that we should allow them to work through Deep Wound. But I must emphasize this next sentence.
ALLOW THESE ENDURANCE PERKS TO WORK THROUGH DEEP WOUND UNDER CERTAIN CONDITIONS
If anyone remembers the 6.1.0 PTB, survivors could make easy tank builds by stacking Endurance perks and just tanking a ridiculous amount of hits. This was easy to do and from what I've heard(I've only seen the PTB) just stupid.
So here's the change:
Endurance perks like Off the Record or Dead Hard will work through Deep Wound, BUT they will reduce the Deep Wound timer by 60% even if you weren't in Deep Wound already.
It works as such: If you are not in Deep Wound and get hit with something like Off the Record, your Deep Wound timer is set to 40% automatically. This prevents you from using something like Dead Hard afterward since that will reduce the timer to below 0%, downing you instantly. But, if you are in Deep Wound already from, say, getting hit with base kit Borrowed Time(or even the perk Borrowed Time), then your timer is set to 100%, allowing you one Endurance perk that will set your timer to 40%.
I MUST ONCE AGAIN EMPHASIZE THAT THIS CONDITION WOULD PREVENT ENDURANCE PERKS FROM CHAINING TOGETHER LIKE THEY DID IN THE PATCH'S PTB.
This change allows a few things. One, tunnelers will have a more difficult time since the base kit Borrowed Time still sets the Deep Wound timer at 100%, allowing survivors to use Off the Record or Dead Hard even if they were hit after being unhooked.
Two, killers and killer add-ons cannot counter endurance perks by simply using their powers as, once again, it sets the timer to 100%. So Pinhead's Original Pain, Deathslinger's shot, and Legion's frenzy will not cancel out these perks automatically after deep wounding. (Though Deathslinger can still shoot through Dead Hard, though that's assuming he's getting two shots off of you)
Now then, will this change weaken tunneling? I'd say yes, but I'd also prefer Decisive Strike's stun duration to be reverted as well. At least that way, the tunneling problem would be reduced to a level close to pre-patch. (I'm of the opinion that tunneling is still stronger than before, what with the killer hit cooldown buff and the survivor speed burst nerf)
Edit 2: One point that has been brought to me(although in a sarcastic manner) is that perks like Mettle of Man and Styptic Agent operate out of this proposed change. So I say this: make Mettle of Man an endurance perk(it makes no sense that it's the only perk that allows you to ignore damage) so that the Deep Wound timer rule applies to it, and make Styptic Agent go by the Deep Wound timer rule as well. That way, the maximum amount of hits a survivor can take is reduced further.
Edit 3: More or less unrelated, but I also think that Off the Record should deactivate if you are healed. It's an anti-tunneling perk that lasts 20 seconds longer than Decisive Strike, it needs something more to balance itself out than just the same canceling ruleset as DS.
