Genuine question about changing around problem perks (PR/DMS)
So we've all seen the august dev notes and it's a mixed bag for most people
The most baffling change to me is the decision to bring back the Pain Res/DMS combo. Not because the combo was problematic or for balance reasons, no
The reason they've brought it back is because of Merciless Storm, a perk that Pain res had a very rare interaction with.
And as a result of this DMS got nerfed. It's not like DMS was unbalanced but it got nerfed purely due to a technical flaw with another perk, I don't get it?
Like think about it:
Pain res and DMS were not changed for any balance reasons whatsoever, they were changed to band-aid fix a problematic interaction with an unrelated perk instead of you know adding a caveat to Merciless Storm that says something like
"Any form of generator damage/regression will also cause the generator to be blocked"
So, in short I just really want to know - Why?

Yeah, I don't get this either.
Plus pain res/dms is very consistent value vs pain res/merciless is like a very rare occurrence that the killer honestly has no control over actually making happen. Like they just saw that one clip and made a knee jerk reaction. But honestly, I'd prefer risking 40seconds of merciless once in my life to avoid pain res/dms every match.
It's also so funny to me that they're like "the killer won't be notified" but like...they can see the gen blocked? 😂😂 And sure, you can let go early, but you can only teabag at your teammate to also let go so much.

PR/DMS doesn't have consistent value, not against Survivors with brains
