Thanataphobia

so with the recent hot fix thanata got reworked the devs reasoning is that it was too oppressive on killers like legion and plague which I can aggrege it was very easy to gain the full benefit of the perk with these killers.

(old) Thanataphobia

for every injured, dying or hooked survivor reduce the survivors repair speed by 5.5%

A simple enough perk that rewards the killer for just doing their main objective. The problem is, the way that they changed it actually made it so its only really good on plague and legion making the whole reason behind the change pointless.

(new) Thanataphobia

for every injured, dying or hooked survivor reduce the survivors repair speed by 2%. if 4 survivors are either injured, dying or hooked reduce their repair speed by an additional 12%

now I believe the numbers just need to be altered to make this change less overturned simply make it so for every injured/dying/hooked survivor reduce repair speed by 4% and if all 4 are injured/dying/hooked give an additional 4% this will make its base effect a bit more impactful but still incentivises the killer to have all survivors injured/dying/hooked to get the full benefit.

that said I also have an idea for a different rework to make Thanataphobia strong in the hands of hit and run killers or killers who want survivors to stay injured

(suggested) Thanataphobia

when a survivor is injured by any means Thanataphobia gains a token, up to a maximum of 2/3/4.

  • each token reduces the survivors repair speed by 6%.
  • a tokens is lost every 30 seconds.

with this change killers are rewarded for injuring multiple survivors in quick succession, this will make Thanataphobia more useful on killers who like to hit and run like wraith and Onryo however as it only gives a token when a survivor is injured its less useful on killers who survivors wont want to or can't heal against like plague or legion whilst also making it good on killers who survivors want to heal against like oni or twins.

all this gives the survivors a choice, either they heal to make it safer for themselves but risk slowing the game down or they omit healing and leave themselves valuable to stealth attacks.

giving the killer the benefit of either slowing the gens down or having all survivors injured for most of the game.

With this adjustment, Survivor can now counter Thanataphobia with Overzealous and Resilience.

My guess is that this patch feels like an adjustment to SBMM.

In other words, it is adjusted based on the idea of 1v1 between killer and survivor.

The new thana simply doesn't work. Sorry but i think this whole patch doesn't work!

It seem it was written by someone that never played the game and only read about it on a book!

The issue with thana was: "It is overused with killers like L&P and in conjunction with other delays like pentimento. But in the other situations is fine."

First: i dunno why you buffed it in the beginning when you already make longer gen reparation time.

Second: i dunno why, with that issue, you simply not decided to revert that change. Are you scared to admit you did something wrong?

Third: i dunno why you decided to make this change. Now thana is DEAD in the situation where it was NOT TOXIC, and it is WORSE in the situation where it was!

A plague now can still have -20%, it is not difficult to keep everyone injured, she can still put the 20% on top of a pentimento, moreover now the -20% is on ALL ACTIONS!

For the legion is a little more difficult but if the legion is going to equip thana he is going also to equip addons to keep everyone injured easy and in this scenario the -20% on all actions is pretty handy and you also can keep double pentimento to put on top also che healing penalty.
