Evading Flashbang

I recently was facing a bully squad and while carrying one of them to a hook I noticed a Bill throwing a flashbang. I INSTANTLY looked straight up (definitely not too late as there was a moment of anticipation until it went off) but was still stunned.
Do I have to actually face away from the flashbang or what else went wrong?

Flashbangs are very inconsistent. Generally looking up if fine unless it was on a slightly higher level than you (I.e Hill).
I'd personally look away from it but generally looking up is fine.

i usually face to the side or backwards. but if you are right on top of the flashbang it still might stun idk. not much experience against flashbangs/firecrackers
