Overcharge skillchecks can be countered while not working on a gen
If a survivor runs up to a generator with Overcharge applied, taps it (interact and run off with no intention on working on the gen) and runs off, while running off and away from the gen, they can counter the skillcheck despite not actually working on the generator.

I know the skillcheck is supposed to follow the character to prevent them from entirely avoiding the skillcheck, but if there aren't working on the generator, they shouldn't be able to succeed on skillchecks against it. That's the bug I'm reporting, not the skillcheck following them. The devs stated the skillcheck following is to prevent them from entirely avoiding the check.

Agreed. The Skill Check should be something that happens while you are working on the gen. If you leave the gen during the skill check it should just fail.
This already happens if you let go of a Heal or a Gen just as a regular Skill Check happens. It just fails.
Same should happen with Overcharge.
