IDC what anybody says, DC penalty's need to be harsher. I'm sick of baby rage.
I'm sick of teammates DCing because they are the first to be found and they last 2 seconds in a chase, I'm sick of them throwing entire games because these little worthless babies don't win 100% of the time so they ruin the game for everyone else.
It's a waste of my time, and if it's between my time and their time to be wasted, I want it to be theirs.
DC penalties need to ramp up faster and be harsher, start it at 20 minutes, an hour, 5 hours, 24 hours, a week, etc.

It's not going to stop people much. The next problem you'll see is survivors just running up to the killer, letting themselves be downed so they can suicide on the hook.

Their time is being wasted, so that's a win for me.

No. It is a lost when you DC due to connection issues or hacker or someone that found a way to take the game hostage and you find out the first DC of the day costed you 30 minutes.
You can do something like this: the person that DC can, in the end of the match, receive extra penalty from the team mates if the DC was without any good reason.
This person can obv write the motivation in the chat.
Every playwe can give extra penalty only 3 times per day.

Yeah, this game and only this game has a problem with my computer. Every time I play - my game freezes at least once or twice while playing. When it freezes it times my game session out and I get a connection time out. It treats this as a DC penalty. It's out of my control and I have had 20+ back and forth messages with BHVR support about this. Tried everything they suggested I do. Nothing worked. They gave up on me and ghosted me. I know there are others that have this same problem. My computer is barely 2 years old and it's beefed up. One of their updates broke their game for me.
Because DC penalty (even if your game froze) stays stacked for 24 hours. I've had it where my ban was an hour. It's an awful feeling not being able to play a game you paid for because it likes to freeze on your computer and it's out of your control. I'm not going to buy a brand new computer to replace the one I bought in 2020 for one game. Especially since my current one cost over a $1,000. It would be extremely unfair to people like me if we had to wait 24 hours to a week. So I'm sorry, I strongly disagree with you. You'll just have to deal with DC. Even if they did do it for a week or so, they will just give up on hook and kill themselves. And if you try to save them they just go around slamming every pallet and messing up every gen. I've seen that happen. Best to just move on to the next game.

Have you tried playing DBD via "NVIDIA GeForce NOW"? It works kind of like Google Stadia. You launch the program and connect with your Steam/Epic account, and then launch the game within the program. You don't even have to have the game installed on your PC. It works by actively streaming the game to you ("downloading" it). Of course, you need a good, stable internet connection for this.

Thats not a problem already?

Not that I've seen.

I'd love it if after the custom matches with bots are introduced that, if they work well, the devs eventually consider letting bots take the place of disconnected players. I'd much rather have a semi-ok bot plus four humans in a match then the match just be short a player.

Imagine someone disconnecting right when theyre on death hook so they get another bot to help out
I feel like this should only be the case if they DC in the first 3 mins

The bot would take over the about to die character, not create a new one, it wouldn’t even get to do anything.

Again, I said I’d like to see bots take over for disconnected players. I didn’t see I want to see bots be in public lobbies.

If I get farmed off the hook by both the Killer and the unhooker, I'm gonna DC no matter what. Zero fox given.

I think they should move up the DC penalty a bit, 5 minutes maybe at start. 30 seconds if it's the first time you've ever done it, going back to 30 seconds after say 4 months of no DC so internet crapping out people aren't punished much. I really liked the idea of matching serial DC-ers with other serial DC-ers. If they're on a streak of greater than 5 in a span of 3 days or less their queue will only get them into a match with people who are on a similar streak, making their queue take longer and putting them in games with likeminded individuals that will give them the same unfun experience they're inflicting on others. DC prison if you will, get out for good behavior. If someone who killed themselves on hook becomes a new issue in light of these punishments just shadow ban those people as well by detecting a trend of spending all 3 chances and missing all skill checks.

Solo-queue also needs a lot of work. I do really like the basekit kindred idea people have. I at one point in some thread suggested more emotes that are defined to mean specific useful phrases. Maybe my idea isn't the best solution to this problem. I wouldn't feel the need for the penalty to increase if they had half decent bots replace the DC-ing player. That's probably the true solution.
All I can say for sure is DC-ing is bad. Maybe this isn't the way to rid the game of it but I'm just spit ballin' here.

Im a killer main when my power goes out it still blocks me from matchmaking.

That is factually incorrect. I don't think people who DC are horrible people, but it's not normal thing to do. The type of person that DCs for any frustration related reason is a type of person that shouldn't be playing the game. I do not personally know a dbd player who DCs. My swf don't DC when they play soloq. Some matches don't go your way but you should play them out anyway. That's my opinion. I'm not going to attack anyone who disagrees, but I know a lot of people like me never have DC'd one so "everyone" is inaccurate for sure. And it shouldn't be encouraged and or tolerated under any circumstance when it comes to a rage quit.
That said I still agree Soloq needs to be less frustrating. Hopefully they manage to make that happen, either with direct soloq buffs or otherwise. That is probably the best way to address it. I only refute the idea that "Everyone DCs". A lot of players in this community are the type of people that would rage quit, but it's not a normal part of playing the game. Please stick out matches, PLEASE. If you feel like you wanna DC, just finish the match and stop playing for the day instead. People who DC want to leave that game to get into another game where they're winning. But that next game they're going to DC again. And again, and again until finally they get a baby killer who might have shot up the MMR too fast that they can clown on and then THEY DC. Vicious cycle and it's easy to stop.

Fair enough. I have nothing else to add. I hope to see it less, one way or another. Hopefully not replaced with more deaths on hook to avoid a greater penalty.

I would be all for this, in the perfect world where DBD could tell the difference between their own game messing up and kicking you/crashing and someone pulling the plug.
I get disconnected far too often for me to be okay with this, already being forced to wait 5 minutes for their own mistakes pisses me off.

How would this work for console, who have no chat box? I also see this idea as being very abusable, with a salty 3-man SWF dumping on a solo who didn't play "good" or whatever.
Nope nope nope

I agree. This game is way to unstable for the penalties to be increased. They're fair imo.

First the solo is not dumping if he hasn't DC. You cannot give extra DC penalty if someone hasn't DC.
Second... well... give a chatbox to consoles then!
