And 5 seconds was too long and too huge of a benefit for survivors, that's why it did get changed to 5 again and then changed again back to 3. We've already seen what it does at 5 seconds before the big change recently

That is rarely the situation but you can wait the ds out in that situation and defend the remaining 3 gen area which should not be too hard if you use slow downs.

My hot take is that old old ds with the 60 second timer that wasn't deactivated by conspicuous actions and was still activated during endgame was healthy for the game.
It forced killers to play as though everyone had the perk unless proven otherwise, and proving otherwise could cost you a decent amount of pressure.
If anything we've learned from 6.1 that if you give killers the opportunity to play the game without having to tunnel or camp or run 4 regression perks but still give them the option to they will still tunnel and camp and run 4 regression perks lol

This is the main issue with DS
Sure, the killer is stunned for 3 seconds, but the survivor is locked in animation for around half a second, so that leaves them with 2.5 seconds of time to run away
Pretty useless in most cases and definitely not worth the perk slot, especially when you can use the perk only ONCE during two very specific timeframes.

I can't say that was healthy simply because people would almost always use it as a shield to do stuff the killer needed to stop with zero risk. Discouraging tunneling is one thing - bodyblocking, doing gens in the killer's face with zero risk, and getting completely free and uncounterable saves were entirely another. The minute of invincibility needed to go. In fact, it was so nasty that many killers would just force DS so survivors couldn't screw them over with it later.
The effect you're talking about isn't limited to a perk being so abusable. People would play more cautiously and fear DS if DS was worth fearing, which it currently is not.

SWF’s ruin everything. The perk is useless if you’re solo, because killers are right on your ass in no time just like DS. It’s a bad perk. That’s why i suggested a longer cooldown.

Killers don’t even need to worry about survivors working together if tunneling was super easy.

4 seconds stun BUT will not work in endgame is fine,,5 was way too much and the only reason it was that way is because enduring used to work on it,,Enduring got changed but 5 sec stun remained,,,It should not work in endgame though cuz at that point it's not tunneling,,it's just game ending

You’re right it’s not a 1v1.. killers make it that way when they tunnel. Team mates can try and take hits solo or swf but if the killer wants you they want you. 5 second ds gives you a chance to turn it back to a 1v4.

nah i don‘t think they should revert the nerfes because this would just interfer with all the nerfes that occurred.
there is a big problem with camping and tunneling killers in general at the moment though. if bhvr doesn’t address this, the game won‘t change in a healthy matter. almost every match i play is either me running the killer for 3 to 5 gens and being constantly tunneled or being hardcore camped 1st hook. none of these matches are fun at all. an improved ds e. g. wouldn’t changed anything at all in this concern. this game needs punishment for camping and tunneling killers. camping and tunneling is a valid tactic to an extend, but the way killers abuse this isn‘t. you should lose points or survivors should get increased healing/repair speed the longer you stay at a hook. even the new perk reassurance and kinship in combination couldn’t help me enough in these matches. it‘s just pure pain and no fun at all playing this game at the current state and i definitely don’t want the „old meta“ back because camping and tunneling also existed there.
regarding this losing pips because you got tunneled or camped to oblivion is just another huge problem. yeah ranks are gone, but i still want as many bp as i can get until rank reset still.

It has nothing to do with a 1v1. Survivors just don't want to be tunneled. 5 seconds were great to punish the killer for that. 3 seconds not so much. It needs to go back to 5 seconds.

Yeah but killers also dont want to be hit with a 5 second DS when they are not tunnelling which still does happen.
Edit: Not 5 sec obviously but 3 sec.
If you can figure out how to fix that then maybe i would agree.
However it was never supposed to be 5 seconds it was made 5 sec when the DS stun was affected by enduring and then when they fixed it so enduring didnt trigger on that stun they didnt revert it.

Dynamic stun time is a really nice idea.
Could also be influenced by how much time one has left on his DS counter when downed or picked up.
Or make it a more dynamic perk by giving survivors the ability to activate it not only when being picked up but anytime while they are on the killer's shoulder.
So you can DS the killer while passing a good window or near a jungle gym and not out the open when you got picked up.

What survivours "working together" if they get tunnelled 2 mins into the match
Don't give me the "Loop better" argument because it's dumb and acts as if even the best of the best of the survivours didn't run DS as well to avoid tunnelling because you don't always have the choice of just "looping better"

Have 1 person busy taking hits, 1 person busy being chased, 1 person being busy healing the dude who just got downed while taking a hit, and you have barely 1 surv doing gens, that isn't fair and puts the survs in a lose-lose situation where they are either going to lose someone straight away or they protect him but no one is really progressing towards winning

3v1 shouldn't be a thing in a 4v1 game either, but here we are, where someone gets tunnelled at even 5 gens because the killer can't handle the 4v1 and wants an insta 3v1, might as well just make the game 3v1 right away cause the 4th dies straight away anyways :)

DS should be reverted back to 5 seconds, but deactivates end game. end of story.
*hell.... it should be even buffed to 2 time use like OTR. anyone who disagrees is a killer who likes to tunnel even if gens takes 140 seconds to be done.
as a killer you can simply never go after the one who got unhooked, if you do you it's your choice and you deserve to eat DS.

DS should be 7 seconds. Most of the killers (by numbers and bell curve - so "avarage" MMR) win at 2 gens left anyway. A lot of them because they are able to tunnel 1 person out. 7s stun would make that much harder and make the game actually way more balanced.

this is a bad take considering how powerful tunneling is right now. you SHOULD be disincentivized from tunneling out the first person you see in the early-mid game. saying things will go back to the way they were before the patch is disingenuous at best, considering all the other buffs killers received and the most problematic survivor perks got nerfed hard.
