What if whispers was base kit?
For those who don't know whispers is a perk that makes a feint audible noise when within 32m of a surivor
what if we made 40m whispers base thus deactivates when there is 1 surivor left in the trial
Then make the perk when you enter 32m if a surivor the noise becomes directional untill you get within 8m of a surivor ( it becomes non directional again)
this is just a thought I was curious about how helpful you think this could be?

I think it might be a tad bit too strong to be base as is, it would function as a ghetto lethal, middle finger to last survivor trying to open gate if hatch is shut, and lastly be a somewhat decent counter to stealth which I think should be countered by giving up a load out slot if you want that.

If we're making stuff basekit for killer it might as well be bbq. It's not a bad perk but it's pretty redundant on most killers these days since you don't get the bp boost on it anymore so you might as well just give it out to everyone for free.

That's a fair point what if It didn't work when the final surivor is alive and
it's always been geddo lethal

Like bt sure if it helps stop camping while we're at it why don't we give noed and adrenaline base as well
Now seriously I'm just trying to be constructive

Another clown ladies and gentlemen. Most used perk "it's not bad perk". Okay.

I think BBQ would actually combat camping a tad, imo! Give the killer more targets in the distance, far away from a hook.

itd be nice, but what would the actual perk do?
maybe base whispers as 32m non directional. and real whispers 24m and directional?
also the argument for last survivor, maybe have it work like chain hunt in that it doesnt exist if theres only 1 player standing (i dont think thats even necessary tho tbh)

It would make killer as annoying to play as survivor. I hate the noise pollution.
3 -
I never even thought of the idea of making the perk directional.
Idea
base when you get within 40m of a surivor you hear that noise whispers makes this stops when there is one surivor alive
Perk then you get within 32m of a surivor the audio becomes directional

The noise whispers makes is shrouded out by every chase music
0 -
that could work, but 40m also could be a detriment for killers, since the whisper sounds can be annoying
maybe have it 32m base, but the actual perk has it so theres no dead area where its non directional (so if you hear the whispers, its directional)

Well, sure, I guess it is not AS bad as the heartbeat. But I still wouldn't want to hear that nonsense in my ear unless I was searching. It might be nice if it activated like insidious, perhaps.
0 -
Okay but please explain this dead area like you get close enough to surivor it deactivates or is no longer directional
0 -
Ohh whispers dosent make any noise to the surivors it never has whispers is a noise only to killer always has been
1 -
so in your idea, the base whispers are 40m, and running the perk makes the closer 32m directional. the dead area i was talking about was the 8m where its not directional, even tho youre running the perk
0 -
Okay yeah that's Allright. Got a little bit confused but that makes sense
0 -
Entity gargling in your ear would make it unplayable for me.

we allready made looping weaker, we do not need to make stealth weaker. at least not this way. +whispers is annoying
1 -
i would rather get noed (without the 4% bonus of MS) as basekit near the exit gates (i would say something lke 24 meters), just to force the opening and to avoid to have survivors acting freely/mocking when they are near the exit gates...

Can you give me the numbers of the perk use after the perk rework, so we can see its still the most used perk, even though the bp-bonus is gone? I would also how often other perks are used since the rework, as well as solo survivor escape rates. Do you have any of those numbers?
Or are you just another clown making baseless statements?

Honestly? I'd quit.
I cannot deal with background noise. It messes up any and all focus I have and makes me play like garbage. I've learned DBD without Whispers so that perk is essentially background noise now and I cannot play with it, ever. It's the exact same reason I couldn't deal with old Discordance - the constant noise notifications would massively stress me out and make me actively play worse because I couldn't focus on the trial.
I don't want to spend another 1.5k hours to relearn dbd because of something like this. If we're adding it, it can't be more noise in the background.
1 -
Huh really? do you have any ideas to make it less distracting then?
0 -
How so like ita just distracting? Or is it too loud?
And if it was distracting how would you make it leas distracting
0 -
You know how a lot of people are able to tune out the background noise and just focus on the perk icon? Just give a little indicator. Make it visual-based, not sound-based, which then also helps accessibility for hard-of-hearing people too.

This cab also work but it would have to be suble them because even the doctors static effect around the edge of his screen makes me not focus on the surivor even if its for just a small sec.
Maybe like some sort of semi transparent effect. So it's not blocking your screen?

I'm gonna be honest I meant like a tiny icon in the bottom right near the perks

*Claims BBQ is the most used perk in the game*
*calls someone ELSE a clown*
0 -
Oh okay you could do that easily
0 -
Great idea. This would eliminate those 2v1 moments where both survivors are hiding. Should be disabled when 1 survivor left
0 -
*laughs in Doctor* yes please

I would get a headache.
And making the sound directional would be too strong.
