Why do you think they are keeping cross progression from us? Maybe they are being a tad greedy and want their players to buy characters again.

“they“ as in the devs? They gave us cross progression between Steam, Stadia and Epic though? Doesn’t really support what you suspect her.
i think it’s way more likely the platform holders don’t want to lose players to pc because of purchases (DLCs, auric cells, online subscriptions) because it’s common knowledge right now that the pc version is better optimized.
